Nice Timon! I can see some significant scraplifting possibilities after our cruise!
I like that lettering you used on the Ahu page. Is that a special font or one of the Creative Keepsakes?
I saw an American Girl book at the bookstore the other day on how to draw some really cool lettering techniques. I saw those line drawings in the back as "copy" potential. Anyone else seen or used these?
LOL. yeah, actually sometimes I amaze myself with my speed And my Polynesian Cultural Center page seemed to take FOREVER!!!!
Back to work the next 4 days so I won't be Scrapping for awhile
Deb,
LOL, actually it's supposed to be "Oahu" and it's funny cus hubby did the same thing when he first saw it! "ahu? aha? hmmm what are you trying to say babe?"
Your pages are great!
I like them all but I have a question about the 3rd one down
...did you use die cuts?...I also like the paper tear (what ever it is called, how you did the word Hawaii)...looks awesome!...
Do you mean the Polynesian one? I used Sizzix for the leaves and the palm trees. I think that's what you are talking about right?
Oh and Splsh,
I bought 4 more Sizzix dies :two pine trees, a flower and a stem with leaves on it. I also stocked up on some cardstock and bought some funky fibers for a pet page that I am working on
Hi Timon,
Thanks for replying...but the one I was looking at was the "gathering place"...the little fishes and sand dollars...was that sizzix too? I may need to get one of those!
Ugh....$$$$$ LOL
I love the way you titled your Pearl Harbor page (and your Paradise Point page) but let me ask you - did you cut your "tags" or did they come that size, did you have to put eyelets in every one or did they come that way and what kind of wire do you use to attatch them to? Also, to hang your stars, is that the same kind of wire or string? Can you tell I want to be like you when I grow up?!
I made my own little tags and then I put an eyelet in each one, then I added stickers to them and threaded them onto wire, which I bought from Magic Scraps http://www.magicscraps.com/C_BeadWire.html
Then I adhered them with pop dots so they would kinda stand out from the page. I hung my Stars with embroidery thread that I picked up at Michael's.
Well, you know I was planning on putting my pages online to share with you guys and I've gotten about half of them downloaded (or uploaded, whichever it is) to Epson but I don't know if I like the way they turn out on that site. And it's probably just my picture taking that is the problem but I don't think you will be able to read my journaling. Plus there's a big glare in the middle of every page from the flash. But I'm still going to share - right now I'm in the middle of resizing every page.
Cass - one more question that has nothing to do with the Hawaii layouts but still - in your 1st cruise scrapbook, on your first day at sea page, your text is in that boat stencil - where did you find that? If you tell me you just winged it I'm going to die.
Can't wait to see your layouts! Good luck with posting them!
The boat that I used on that page was done using a template. It's actually called "Puzzle Mates" Cruise template. I got it at my local SB store, but I am sure you can find it in many places!
