So I'm about 2 weeks from my 180 days and I wanted to see if I could get some answers to a few questions I have before my "alarm clock" day. Any info is appreciated.

1. How is dinner at the Grand Floridian Cafe? And the atmosphere? I want to take DIL's to that resort to check it out, but don't want to spend 2 credits on Narcoosee's or Citrico's, and am up in the air about 1900 vs GFC. I have never been to either, but I do want to do at least 1 character meal.

2. I have had breakfast at Akershus, but not dinner. Any input on dinner there?

3. Is there a character meal that includes Minnie? My girls loved her and want to go to Chef Mickey's. Uh, I don't want to go to Chef Mickey's...

4. Do I have to call a different line to get ressies for 15?

TIA :goodvibes

3. Is there a character meal that includes Minnie? My girls loved her and want to go to Chef Mickey's. Uh, I don't want to go to Chef Mickey's... - Cape May Cafe breakfast usually has Minnie, I also want to say Tusker House, but I'm not sure of that one (allears doesn't have her listed, but only has 4 and I know it has 5 (Donald greeting and 4 roaming).

4. Do I have to call a different line to get ressies for 15? - Yes, you will be directed to call the group dining line (and maybe to the individual restaurant) to book for more than 10. Note that, even if your resort reservation states 15, for any meals where you are going with 10 or fewer, this will not apply. Just in case you want to split up for a couple meals :).

Comments above in Green. Enjoy your stay :)

Also, you may want to check out the 190 day glitch thread on the Reservations sub-forum. While it won't apply for the reservations of 15, if you're making any smaller ones it may come in handy.

We did the story-book dinner in Norway.... it was good. They have a buffet you may snack on while waiting for the entree....it has fruits and cheeses some lunchmeats..etc..... I would eat there again but it would not be my first choice. Like I usually tell everyone...try it you may never do it again but you can say you did and chalk it up to a Disney Experience. :thumbsup2

I have an upcoming reservation at Cape May at the beach club and it is my understanding that Minnie Mouse is one of the characters there. My children love Chef Mickey's but I have chosen to go to Cape May instead so that we can see Minnie. They have a breakfast buffet also.

we love 1900 park fare! It's a tradition for us to eat dinner there our first night each trip! The buffet is great and the character interaction was amazing! Love the stepsisters! We haven't ate at the gf cafe before.

we didn't like the askerhaus food for dinner! For us, the food choices were too out there. I went with 2 teens and a toddler. One teen ended up ordering cheese pizza off the kids menu, because she didn't find anything she liked off the regular menu. My brother and i both got the chicken, and then scraped the sauce off of it! We like more traditional american food though...burgers, chicken, pizza. The character interaction was great with the princesses though. I'd still pick cinderella's castle over it, but if it was the only way we could see the princesses, i'd eat here again!

Also, it was pricey! Over $110 for 1 adult, 2 high schoolers, and a toddler!

we love tusker house at animal kingdom! Great buffet and minnie is there! :) we have never been to chef mickey's and will be going there on halloween this year! I hope i'm not too disappointed! My son really wants to go, so i figure i should give it at least one chance! Haha!

don't know about this one! Sorry!

If you can do the character meal elsewhere, GFC is an excellent place to eat. The atmosphere is upscale, as expected at the GF, but not stuffy at all. We went there on the DP (see TR link below). Our CM was excellent and suggested Evian water instead of tap water or soda and also suggested the sampler dessert tray instead of an individual dessert. Both were no extra charge on the DP. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Saints, thanks so much!!!!! I too stay at OKW when we go and I love the building 62-63 area! I have stayed in a GV in 63 and the view is YUMMY!

And I do believe that your review of GFC has made my decision. Now to decide between Tusker House breakfast and Akershus dinner. Minnie or Princesses, decisions decisions decisions!!
