Please bare with me, I am trying to get a handle on this whole DDP thing

#1 - I am traveling to WDW with my youngest DS (14) from Nov. 1st - Nov 6th of this year. My oldest DS (19) will be joining us for only two of the days. He will not be on our ressie and will not be on DDP. Can I pay OOP for his meals if youngest DS and I use DDP?

#2 - Can youngest DS and I share meals on DDP and if so how does it work?

#3 - Are tips still included in DDP?

I'd appreciate any help you can provide!!!

I'm sure those with MUCH more experience and knowledge than me will jump in here soon, but I'll try to help with what I can, too.

#1 - Yes, for your older son, you (or he) would just pay OOP as normal for his meals. I think the checks will be done up separately, be sure to tell your server when you arrive.

#2 - I believe that since your younger son is an "adult" on the plan, thus making all your credits the same, you can share meals. However, the credits "saved" could only be used for the 2 of you (on another day, for a signature meal, etc.) NOT for your other son. Since he is not on the plan that would be an "unauthorized" use of the plan. I think the bigger sharing issues come in when people share with the intention of using child credits for adult meals, which obviously would not be an issue here. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but as I understand it, the two of you can share, and use your credits as you like, for the two of you only.

#3- Tips ARE still included in the DDP (as well as the appetizer for TS meals) for the rest of 2007. One reason that your older son will get a separate check for his meal - he'll (or you) need to tip on his order.

Hope that helps!

Thank you for responding, Sandy!

My intention was not for my older son to eat with DDP. That's why I asked if I could pay OOP for him. The question of sharing was specifically for my younger DS and myself. My concern was that if we were not hungry enough to eat two separate meals, could we share a meal and save the credit for future use.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply you meant that!!! I just wanted to clarify it, b/c someone else did post here just a few days ago that they wanted to do that or did do it or something. Just wanted to clarify that!!

As far as my understanding, your intended use is just fine!!
