I am thinking of staying at AKV CL for 4 nights. Do the studios have a Savannah view? Also what are the food offerings? What other perks are available? Would we need the DP or would it be too much food, we were thinking of just paying for a few TS meals. TIA:)

You can get any room with a savanah view if you pay for it. Food options are a bit limited, there is a good counter service place (at Jambo house) and a few table service resturaunts, generaly you can find something good to eat. If your going to be out all day at the parks or shopping you are probably better off eating in DTD or at the Mall where it will be slighly better vaule for money. Akv (at kidani and jambo)has a good Gym, pool complex and has a very laid back relaxed atmophere which is perfect after the parks. It is our DVC ' home resort' and we are very please we bought in at AKV.

There are five 2 BR lock-offs on the top (6th) floor of Jambo House that are AKV concierge villas. Two of those villas have a savannah view, the other three have a pool view. The SV is OK (partially 'obstructed' from the roof line). One of the SV villas is HA (not sure if the other is) so if you request a savannah view you have at least a 50-50 shot of not having a bathtub in the bathroom (it has a roll in shower). We had the 1BR SV that was HA. We didn't mind it - but if you need/want the tub it is a consideration. We didn't mind the view, either. Many say they prefer the pool view.

We were there last August so the food offerings may have changed. There is a continental breakfast each morning: breads, bagels, fruit, juices, coffee,etc....snacks in the afternoon....some hot & cold appetizers in the evening.....desserts a little later in the evening. They also have wine & beer that's available in the evening as well. We did not do the DP during our stay and didn't miss it. We paid for a few TSs as you mentioned.

Check the Resorts Board for the Concierge Thread. It has info about all of the CL resorts but AKL/AKV is on there quite a bit. You can ask about the food lately and get answers to all your questions.

We enjoyed our CL stay.....look into one of the special safaris, we did the Sunrise Safari - it's great!

I think it's the other way around. Three with obstructed savanna view and two with pool view.

If you don't have AKV points and you don't call exactly at 11 months out when MS opens, you probably won't get AKV CL. They go very quickly. Sometimes you can get them at a later date, but it was probably because the owner who had them, cancelled the reservation.

and if you DO get one, be sure to go on the sunrise safari. It was one of the best things we did when we were on concierge.

I agree. The Sunrise Safari is loads of fun. And if you can't get the AKV CL on points, you can always use cash to book the AKL Concierge and still have access to the lounge and safari. Only you'll be on the fourth floor.

Does anyone have a link about the Sunrise Safari? I can only find the Wayama (sp?) one. And how much does the Sunrise Safari cost?
