A Few AKL Questions

We are currently booked in a pool view room at AKL for September. Does anyone know...

1)What the annual pass rate will probably be (if offered) for a concierge room in sept.?

2)Do you get a savanna view if you book concierge?

3)How much is the sunrise safari for an adult? a child?

4)Does the sunrise safari fill up fast? (How good will my chances be to get on the safari -2 adults, 1 child- if I book when/if discounts come out for rooms?)

I know I have read some of these answers before, but I can't remember because I didn't write it down. Thank you!!

I just talked to a CM about the Sunrise Safari, so here's what I was told.

adt 12yrs. and up $49.95
chd 3-11 $35.00
price includes breakfast at the lodge

The safari is 7:30 on Tues. and Sat. only. and can be booked 90 days in advance. It holds only 40 guests, so it fills fast. You must have the concierge room booked to get on the safari, so many people get the room, book the safari, then wait to see if a discount comes out. To make the reservations for the safari call 407-938-4755, Concierge Itinerary Planning.

#2. Not all concierge rooms are savanna view. However, there are very few concierge rooms that are not savanna view.

Last september there weren't any AP rates, but our rate was $277 for value season this year.

Value season for AKL club level was 273-tax inclusive for December. The Sunrise Safari includes the private Safari you assemble in the lounge at 7am. After you are taken by private bus to the AK. You go on the safari. when it is over you are given a fast pass to do the Safari again. The breakfsat is in fact not at the lodge but at AK in the Tusker House. Thre is quite a substanial buffett set up in a private room of the Tusker house. I believe it's called the School room?
When you gather in the lounge before Breakfast items will be available as always they will encourage you to simply pick somthing to tide you over, until you get to the actual Buffett.
Savannah view is not guaranteed nor will it be. However I have never requested it and not recieved it. And the general consenous seems to be just that. I have not yet heard of someone not being accomodated in that way. The lounge IMHO is the best on property.... it certainly is the prettiest. If you have any other questions feel free to pm me. We are returning again to the Kilamanjaro club in December. I can not wait!

1. AP rates were not offered during Sept 2003. Concierge AP rate during value season is $277 inc tax if offered.

2. Technically it is not garenteed. But, if you request a non-smoking room you get a savanna view by default as all of the pool view rooms are smoking optional rooms.

3. Sunrise Safari is $49.95 and I think $29.95 for children.

4. The Sunrise Safari we went on the other day was not full. You can only book the Safari once you have a room booked so I would say if an AP rate does come out call to book the safari as soon as you have your room confirmation number.

We just came back from a 6n/7day stay at the AKL Concierge and had a great time. This was our second stay at the AKL Concierge and our fourth stay at the AKL overall. Check out my other post for more information or feel free to ask any other questions you may have.

FYI - We were on the Sunrise Safari just this past Tuesday and it holds 52 people according to Greg, who is one of the animal keeper managers at the AKL. Our Safari was only half full and therefore they only did one truck when we got to the AK. This was our second time doing this safari last time, Feb 2003, it was a full safari with two trucks. Greg also was part of the Sunset Safari that we went on on this past Monday night. He was great.

You are very welcome. Right now only the Swan/Dolphin have AP rates out for September.
