A few AKL concierge questions....

1. Are all of the rooms deluxe rooms?

2. What are our chances of getting a savannah view? (we had the pool view last time)

3. What are the chances that our room would be ready at 10am?

Any other tips would be appreciated....

As far as I know, all AKL concierge rooms are deluxe rooms. As for your chances of getting a savannah view room, I'd contact concierge prior to my trip to put in a request for a savannah view room. From what I've read, the fifth floor savannah rooms have better views than the sixth floor rooms, but are farther away from the lounge (lounge is on the 6th floor). Don't know about whether or not the room would be ready at 10 am, as we're staying concierge for the first time in September. Have fun!!!

1. Yes, I think all concierge rooms are deluxe.

2. Chances of getting a savannah view are very good. The cm's in concierge try very hard to make your stay as magical as possible. There are some savannah view rooms on 6th floor, we had one, it overlooked the Sunset Savanna. It's quite a ways down, though, so not a close-up look. #1hockeymom loves the savanna view rooms out on the ends of the wings, on the 5th floor. Maybe she'll be by to give more info.

3. Pretty good - I think ours was ready at about 11 or 12.

You are gonna love AKL concierge, the cm's are so wonderful and the lounge is great, food is fantastic. Can't wait to go back! Ask at check-in when they have a cooking demonstration scheduled, some nights the chef from Boma comes up with a mobile cooking station and makes a dish, complete with pre-printed recipes!!

No. The first time we stayed concierge at the AKL, we were not in a deluxe room. With just DH and I, it didn't really matter.

2. What are our chances of getting a savannah view? (we had the pool view last time)

Specify you want savannah. I believe most of the AKL concierge smoking rooms are not savannah, so if you are asking for smoking that would make it more difficult.

3. What are the chances that our room would be ready at 10am?

Entirely depends on how busy it is. You are welcome to check in and use the lounge anytime though, even if your room isn't ready yet.

Thanks everyone!

The room size isn't that important to us, as it's only Dh, Ds, and myself, but a deluxe room would be nice.

We don't smoke, so maybe that's a better chance of a savannah view. I do not mind being on the fifth floor, away from the lounge, so maybe that would increase my chances of getting a savannah view.

Do people "hang out" in the lounge in the evenings, or is there not enough seating for this? Bascially, do people "eat and run", using the lounge as a pit stop for their tummies ?

We would like to be able to relax in the lounge, if possible, since we plan to spend our evenings at the resort, doing the activities, pool time, etc.-BUT I don't know if this would be feasible on a hoilday (Labor Day) weekend.

We are way past the commando toruing stage, so that's why we are even considering concierge. We had a very relaxing weekend(too much eating, though ) at the Beach Club and really enjoyed the slow pace.

We have not defnitely decided on AKL, though. It will all come down to IF FL Res rates are released and what is available.

Another Question about the Conciege level rooms.

My future wife and I Plan on spending 4 nights at the AKL in the middle of September as part of our Honeymoon. Wondering if it would be advantageous of me to call the conciege and ask if they can do anything special to the room prior to us checking in??. Or do I just mention it at check in? My travel agent has noted that we will be on our honeymoon, but I just want to get all the "goodies" that go along with being on your honeymoon while at WDW.
Also if anyone else has any tricks or tips that they can give me about Romantic things to do in the Park, or tours, or restuarants that we should or should not go to that would be great.

So far I've booked the conciege level AKL room, gotten the silver package, and thinking right now of getting cirque tickets and a couple spa packages, but not sure what other wishes I should use. Heard that the Luau was great, what other events should I look into?

If you are staying AKL concierge, look into the Sunset or Sunrise Safari. The Sunset is adults only and ends in a wonderful muli course dinner at Jiko. My daughter and I did it in March and it is the best thing we have ever done at WDW.

I would absolutely let the concierge planning staff know it is your honeymoon! Congrats!

I would call the conciere ahead of time and ask for suggestions as to what types of things they can leave in your room for you. Perhaps champagne, fresh flowers, tuxedo strawberries...pretty much if you can dream it, they can do it, as long as you're willing to pay and it's legal.

Just returned 12 hours ago and stayed at BWI, Poly lvc and AKL concierge. Hands down winner is AKL concierge. The most friendly, helpful cms from start to finish. They surprised us with a lovely anniversary cake in our room and every day the kids received a little surprise in the lounge. They bend over backwards to make sure every need is met. We stayed in room 5417--great location overlooking arusha rock, in 1st set of rooms so not far from the fastest elevators around. The Sunset Safari was absolutely worth every penny. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are in immaculate condition. We checked out yesterday and ditched Downtown Disney plans to hang out in the resort and lounge yesterday instead (it must be great if I passed up shopping!) You will not regret staying here!
