A fairly silly question.

Just a question and some rambling

Have you ever felt a certain way about something, wether an idea, a belief, an opinion or anything at all, but didn't want to admit it to people around you for fear of being mocked or scorned by them? I know it's mostly an expression of fear, but this is a huge problem for me. I have a budding interest in R & B music, but don't want to even listen to a station that plays the genre because of the general dislike for it in my family. Only a few minutes ago I was listening to a soft rock channel when Mary J. Blige came on, and my mom asked what I was listening to, saying that it went from being good music a moment ago to 'crap'. Meh, I'm probably just a coward, but I've always been nervous about expressing opinions even though I often have strong feelings for them, because if deviating isn't forbidden, it isn't exactly encouraged, either (heck, it took almost a year to admit I was a Rocketshipper in a house full of Pokeshippers, and that's just a small issue).

Hopefully most of you have at least a little more nerve than me, but do you ever feel reluctant to reveal your feelings about anything?

I seem to only care like that around my best friend because she is the most judgmental person I have ever met in my life. I won't get into what, however, because to be quite honest, I am rather tired haha, and do not have the brain energy to open this up .

I don't tend to care about being mocked or laughed at by those around me.

I wore a can can skirt to school for a presentation.

I ride the kiddy rides at the mall.

I'd wear flowers in my hair and pink fluffy skirts all year long if I could.

I like what I like, and what I like is everything from pink and orange together to foreign movies with subtitles. My friends don't get it, but they don't try to.

I tend to worry about what others think but I really admire people who do their own thing and are happy to stand out. It does seem like a healthier way to live.

But I still hate their guts.
