I will be meeting up with my boss (very scary) and a few co-workers for a drink some where in Disney...what about pleasure island? Is there some where we could go for an adult drink or something?
You can, but I definitely wouldn't suggest it as a place to meet up - there's really no place to sit outside the clubs, if that's what you're getting at. If you want to say, go in to a club and have drinks, I'd suggest the Adventurer's Club for that.
Otherwise I'd recommend one of the hotel bars, especially the Territory Lounge at the Wilderness Lodge and Victoria Falls at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Both have excellent drinks and great atmosphere.
I would recommend Raglan Road which is in DTD. It's the new Irish pub; we ate there last Oct and it looked like a great place to have drinks (I was PG and their ginger ale was terrible, but if I could have had a beer...). No admission required either!
I liked the atmosphere in House of Blues, personally. And, you can sit outside most times of year there. It's on the edge of all the action, not on Pleasure Island, but on the West side, much quieter, IMO.
I agree with Territory Lounge. I also like Outer Rim at CR, but Territory Lounge has a "warmer" feel to it, I think. And if you want to meet up and have fun, definitely try the Adventurer's Club.
I think Raglan Road is a great spot, too, but not if you want to have conversation =) The band is very loud (though excellent when we went!) and our waitress has to sit at our table and yell at us to get our orders, LOL! But a great adult place to hang out and listen to music - there were lots of business people there the night we went.
I would think it depends on what the goal of the evening is. As others have said, if you want an evening of fun, without a lot of conversation among the group, the Adventures Club would fill the bill. I do not think there is anywhere else at PI I would go. We stopped at Raglan Road for a drink in October and it is beautiful. But the band was not playing when we were there, so it was not noisy then.
I think a resort lounge is a great idea if you want a chance to sit and talk. I have not been to AKL, but it sounds delightful. Also the Ale & Compass at the YC is a nice spot.
Have Fun.
I think the patio at House of Blues is a great idea! I sometimes stop and get a drink before I have to go inside the concert hall if the band I'm on assignment for is someone I'm not terribly fond of LOL!
Unless the weather is snarky, they usually have an accoustic singer out there as well.
Will you all be at a conference? What hotel are you staying at? Most have a nice lounge area that might be a better bet.
We are all on March break....no business - just pleasure. I'm staying on site while the others are just across the street. I usually don't spend alot of time with my boss outside of work but he is insisting that we all get together. I'll suggest Raglan or House of Blues - I would personally like to try the adventure's club but I have a feeling they want to talk. Thanks for the help!

I would worry about them balking at paying the cover charge for the clubs at PI if they want to chat. Frankly, I don't think I'd ever suggest a place with a cover--not a steep one like PI has anyhow--for a group of business associates to meet for a drink.
If you want to talk in the Adventurers Club, you can sit upstairs (but you know...the bar is downstairs) or stay in the main salon and chat at the times when there aren't shows in there. But I'd agree with Anne, I wouldn't pay what it costs to get in there if you know all you want is to talk over a drink. You might actually feel like you want to go into a couple of shows.
