Hello All,
I've been a DISboards member since waaaaay back in 2006 when I was a single mom and planning a trip for me and my two littles--our first major vacation as just the three of us, post divorce.
Our trip was a huge success, with big thanks owed to the DISboards, and the many kind folks who answered all my questions, and helped me plan an amazing trip, where I felt safe and confident taking two kids across the country by myself.
That first trip in 2006 ignited a Disney spark in me, which led to another, longer trip to the World in 2008, followed by a cruise in 2009/10, and then a trip to Disneyland in 2012.
By that time, my "kids" had grown up enough that they wanted to take a break from the Disney vacations and explore some other places. Our other non-Disney trips were fun, but in my heart, I longed to return to Disney again.
Fast forward a few years. My kiddos were off to college when this single mama's life changed. I always said I'd never get married again, and then life threw me a curveball. A curveball in the form of my sweet hubby, who swept me off my feet. We got married almost exactly one year to the day of our first date---364 days from that amazing date to be exact.
We both turned 50 in our second year of marriage. Me on December 9, and he on January 9. My sweet hubby had only been to Disney World once as a small boy, but when I suggested we take an adults-only trip to celebrate our milestone birthdays, he was onboard. Yes, I am one lucky girl.
Our trip took place in January of 2019, pre-COVID. But since all of our other travel plans since then (including EUROPE this past summer
) have been cancelled thanks to the pandemic, I decided that reliving this trip through a trip report--my first ever trip report-- might help me generate a little “vacation happiness” until we can get back on the road again. ✈
I started this report on my blog, but want to share here with you all, too. I’ll post the master links to each day of the trip right here. I welcome comments both here, and on the blog. Thanks so much for reading along.

I'll come back and add links here as I update each day of our trip:
Day 1: A Snow Storm & Travel Day Mahem
Day 2: Magic Kingdom, Breakfast at BoG, Dinner at Ohana, and Fireworks!
