Hey all!

I'm not sure if this has already been posted, but I have just got to say that the 6ABC Boscov's Thanksgiving Day Parade from Philadelphia was absolutely outstanding on Thursday!! To start things off, Mickey Mouse was the honorary Grand Marshall of the parade. He was on what appeared to be a giant mound of snow with the Sorcerer's hat at the top. He was in his Sorcerer's outfit. Shortly after, on an old fashioned fire engine was Pluto. A bit later, another float came by with Minnie Mouse, Chip & Dale, Goofy, Donald Duck, Belle and Beast, Snow White and Dopey! And yet a little later was a snowglobe float that looked like the ones in the Share A Dream Come True parade at WDW. Inside the bubble were Cinderella and Prince Charming. And still a while later, the whole gang, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Santa Goofy, Chip & Dale, Snow White, Dopey, Rudolph Pluto, Belle and Beast, Cinderella and Prince Charming did a production number in front of the art museum...all decked to the nines in holiday attire. Lest I forget to mention the frequent cutbacks to Karen Rogers at the Magic Kingdom and the shortened versions of the Share A Dream Come True and Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parades!!! They may no longer do the Thanksgiving Day parade from the Magic Kingdom anymore but who cares! Just watch the Philly parade and you're all set! It was great! (Gee, I wonder if 6ABC being the sponsor had anything to do with all the Disney tie-ins? LOL)

MouseFan, I saw some of that parade during commercial breaks on the macy*s parade. I did see the production number with Belle , Snow and Cindy.....ooooooh!:D Oh one more thing.....who was singing as Christine in the Phantom of the Opera spot? She had a sorta Snow White look to her. I missed Deborah Gibson though. Since Belle was already there, I assume Deborah didn't sing something from BatB.

See, I had seen the Philly parade in the past, and it usually came off as "cheesy".. I missed this one, because in the past I haven't enjoyed it.

Sounds like I missed out.

Sounds like the same floats that were here for the annual Festival of Lights celebration in Chicago. Every year Mickey turns on the lights on North Michigan Avenue. I wondered if they used the floats in any other city.

Disney also puts on stage shows several times a day during the first day of the Festival. Did they do the same in Philly?

Sorry Fig, I only saw what was shown on TV...haven't heard about any additional performances that day.

JohnMouse, I'm not too sure who was singing during the Phantom spot. I'm not really a big Phantom person and I ended up switching the channel...lol.
