A Dishwasher Question

If I was to push the little button that says "heated dry" would my dishes all come out dry?

I hate wet dishes, cant put them away wet, so some of them I end up putting in the sink strainer others i hand dry.

I've never used it before, but wondering if it will melt the plastic dishes, or if they wont come out dry dry. Since my electric bill has never been more than $40 a month, even with the dishwasher being used every other night minimum....I might just try it.

I always heat dry my dishes. With plastic, most items are okay as long as they're in the top rack.

Use the extra additive Jet-Dry. I'm not sure how, but it helps the dishes dry.

Unless there are depressions on glasses or dishes that hold water, your dishes will be dry. If you put plastics on the top rack, and/or make sure they do not come in contact with the heating element, they shouldn't melt. I have never had a problem.
Much better than washing dishes by hand! Or drying them!

Yes they will come out dry. I tried not using mine for a few days to save electricity but I couldn't stand everything being soaking wet

I've never NOT used the heated dry. I've never had anything melt.

okay I'm going to try it....of course if I could keep the girls plastic cups from flipping upside down that would help too huh?

any tips for that?

I never use the heated dry.My electric bill is high enough

But if I run my dishwasher at night after supper, they are always dry the next morning when we empty it.
Not we, my kids..........it is their job to empty the dishwasher and put them away every morning ;-)

FYI - if you DO use the heated dry option...be sure that any plastic (cups/gladware/tupperware) is safely stowed.
The smell of burnt plastic is hard to get out of the house!

We rented an apartment while building our house...and nothing would stay put in the dishwasher...it would just fly around...couple of the lids to my gladware would burn/melt all the time.
