A different way to exchange trees?

Years ago, in 2003, there were fewer trees, fewer participants using the trees. I remember having to drop off the tree we had at VWL at OKW, I really think there were fewer than 5 trees involved.

I do not wish to step on toes, but maybe if we could find volunteers to co-ordinate tree exchanges at each resort, the burden would be less for any one person.

I will be at VWL and we donate a tree, and I would be happy to co-ordinate all trees going there.

This is an offer, not a reality at this time. If there isn't interest in doing it this way, I know the co-ordination of doing all resorts would be more than I can handle.

What about it? Do you want to have a Christmas Tree exchange this year? Do you have an idea about how to do it?

That would be one way to divide the labor.

Would we get enough trees for each resort? I remember that the coordinator shifted trees so that busier resorts could have a second tree. If coordinators communicated with each other, that could still happen I suppose.

We are staying at BLT, and I thought about coordinating that. However, the family that has spoken up about sharing overlaps our stay by quite a bit. They would only get the tree for a couple of days before we would want it. Would they be happy with that, or would they be annoyed that the coordinator is not sharing well?

I hate to see it die, but maybe the tree exchange has run its course? :(

I would not shift trees. Maybe part of the stress was trying to accommodate the most people. I think his criteria was how many children, but I am not sure. It's a fact that you can't please everyone. Donors and order of sign ups I think should determine where the trees go. We always donated the tree after that first time, which was our very first DVC stay, it was very special to have the tree.

Without one person setting up the rules and overseeing the process, I don't see it happening. The problem with projects like this is that people are involved. All it takes is one person changing their mind or forgetting their tree and everyone at the resort is affected.
