A different type of question

Hello all, I hope you don't mind me asking this question here but I didn't know where else to put it as it's not a Disney question.

I am planning a trip to England (probably in July of 2003).
I have been to England before and visited London, Oxford, Straford-upon-avon and Windsor.

My family has never been there. It would be my husband, myself and our 2 children ages 7 and 9. They are great travelers and love visiting other countries.

We are definitely spending 5-7 days in London and then would like to spend 7 days elsewhere within England (not necessarily in one place). I have been doing a lot of research and everywhere sounds wonderful.

Any advice on what other areas to visit? We will definitely do Windsor as a day trip from London or on the day we leave London towards our next stop. We will also go to Straford for Shakespeare country, being there already I know that a day is enough.

I have looked into the Cotswold area, Lincolshire, etc but it all sounds wonderful.

I would love to hear all of your recommendations.

You are probably asking the wrong lot here as you have to remember most of the people on here can't wait to escape this country on holiday!

There are some lovely villages in the Cotswolds - very picturesque.

As for anywhere else, it really depends what you are after.

North Wales is very scenic and you have probably heard about Scotland already. There is also the Lake District.

The West Country - Devon and Cornwall in particular - are very beautiful with lots of little fishing villages.

I agree - the Cotswolds - and the Peak District - are both well worth a visit.
