A different question about PIN codes

We've received, and used to great advantage, PIN codes in the past. In 2008, we got one via postcard, and saved a lot of money. We got a few in the years since via postcard.

About 6 months ago, we got one via email. The dates were wrong, but I checked anyway, just to see what the offer was. To my surprise, the computer told me that it wasn't meant for me. (I live in a single famiy home, and have travel to WDW with the same family who occupies my house-- my husband and 3 kids.)

I emailed Disney Destinations to clear it up, and played phone tag with a CM before giving up-- I'm a teacher and can't get home before 4-- and calling from work would mean that I have to hang up when the bell rings. (What are the odds that this can be cleared up in fewer than 38 minutes on the phone?)

Fast forward to this week-- it happened again, for the right dates.

Now, the reality is that we've already saved $1000 on the summer offer, and that this pin would probably save us another $25. I'm not greedy enough to need to track down every last cent I can; I can live without this discount (though, hey, the $25 would be nice!)

My larger concern is fixing the problem, for next time.

The CM I spoke to yesterday said he couldn't figure out what the problem was and to ask my travel agent to try again. My travel agent was told to have me contact Disney.

They have the correct name, address, phone number and email address. But somehow, there's a disconnect in there somewhere.

I wrote a long email to Disny Destinations, outlining the problem.

So, finally, here's my question:

Has anyone come across this before? If so, how did you fix it??

Thanks for any help you can offer!

I did have this problem... unfortunately, once they "fixed" it, I've never received another pin :rotfl2:

The phone lines are open until 10pm EST - so you have more time after work to clear up any issues over the phone.

This stuff happens all the time. It just means that someone else is also in their system under your address, whether they lived there previous to you or vacationed with you at one point, etc.

They'll need to look up the name of the person/zip that the offers are coming to and choose for that person to no longer receive communications from Disney.

I get offers from someone that lived in our house previous to us because since they've moved they haven't been back to Disney and haven't updated their address. It doesn't have anything to do with YOUR information, it's the other persons.

Same thing happened to me. The pin kept coming to my friend's name at my email address. I bet she got about 5 pin codes. I mentioned it to a CM on the phone one time that I kept getting pin codes at my email, but they were in my friend's name instead of my name. I haven't received one since.

The thing is, when they MAILED Pins, we got several. It's just the switchover to email that has us lost in cyberspace somewhere.

I wonder if I could have them change my email to my work email-- do you think that would help them allign who I am with who they think I am???
