A deal? Entrance price going up!

Noted in the local paper that admission is going up on a daily ticket by 8% and an annual by slightly lower. Dis they wait to raise prices until we thought we were getting a NEW benefit? Thoughts?

They raises prices around this time just about every year. I don't think our benefit had anything to do with it!

I think the AP DVC benefit was part of the new ticket system. They knew DVC members were looking for an AP discount, so this was a good time, when they were revamping the whole system. Word just "leaked out" a little early.

As long as I don't have to pay full price for an AP any more it's a deal to me!!

the answer is on the motly fool today..........Disney told the street that they wanted to encourage more extended stays and not shorter stays so it would bring in more revenue.............that was their main goal

It is really obvious if you look at the tables at mousesavers that Disney is simply encouraging longer stays. The difference in base price for MYW tickets between say a 5, 6, or 7 day ticket is only a dollar or two. Why not stay a whole week? They are almost ensuring longer stays with the new system and the creation of new Disney addicts, since the more you see, the more you like! The ultimate goal of Disney is, of course, conversion of the ordinary Disneygoer to DVC member where no more bribery is necessary.
