WOW! OK, RI may be the smallest state, but is also wins for being the NICEST state.
RI actually has a good driving record law. Which means, if you get stopped for a traffic violation, and have a good driving record, they will toss out the ticket!
Now, I live in Mass, but I have a CLEAN record. I would like to keep it that way. That is why, when I got pulled over in RI for going 75MPH in a 65MPH zone, I decided to have my day in court, and plead on my good record. I had my sob story all planned out. (We were driving back up from Florida, where the southern states have a speed limit of 70, so I had not acclumated yet)
My name is called, I stand before the Judge. Does he ask me why I am there (Like they would in a Mass. court). NO. He asks me if I have a good driving record in Mass. I say yes, I do. He tells me he will give me until August 29th to mail in my DMV record, and the violation will be tossed out!
