my entourage are going to disney from 16th to 21st march...........

as important as our time in disney is, i think it is very important for us to see the eiffel tower, the louvre and notre dame......

i need advice on how to go about getting to these places......

we plan on going on the thursday because notre dame offer free tours in english at 14:30. but i just don't know how to plan the rest of the day....

can someone explain the bus/metro system? could we book a tour? should we try it alone? is it relatively easy to get around?

any advice would be fantastic!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: pirate:

Paris is ever so easy to get around. You can either take a guided coach tour from the Hotel New York or can DIY. I'd recommend DIY. You catch the RER from the train station which takes about 35-40 minutes. The cheapest ticket is one that will get you there and back again (about €12) or else for a little more you can buy a Mobilis ticket which will also allow you to travel around Paris on the Metro. The first time we went into Paris we got off at Auber Station and took a hop-on hop-off bus tour from across the road, L'OpenTour and visited the Eiffel Tower. If you want to go right to the top which I would definitely recommend you will need to allow 2 hours here.

The second time we went to Paris we got off at Charles de Gaulle Etoile and walked everywhere. We visited the Arc de Triomphe, walked down the Champs Elysees, saw the Louvre and spent the majority of time at Notre Dame.

I'm sure others will chime in to help who know Paris much better than me but rest assured it is very easy to get around. :thumbsup2

As Ive just mentioned on another thread we did 2 day trips last Easter and if you have a look at my trip report from then there is a detailed summary of what we did including metro stations to use etc

last trip we did the cityrama coach tour cause we werent sure if we'll manage to get around but next time i'd prefer discovering paris on our own. u get more time to do the things u like rather than wasting time in the coach
