Hi -

DH and I will have a day to spend in Erie this upcoming weekend. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to see or do? I know it will be cold and don't mind spending some time outdoors, but I would definitely like the opportunity to get warm indoors, too.

TIA.

The erie zoo although I haven't been there in years.:confused3

You could go to Presque Isle (AKA the Peninnsula.) If it's nice out, there are paths and stuff to explore. There is some pretty good shopping in and around the Millcreek Mall. There is an indoor water park and a Casino in the area, too. Other than that, I don't recall there being much to do in Erie in the winter.

The shopping is good. The stores start as soon as you get off of I-90 on to Peach St. and run down hill to the Mill Creek Mall.
If you like indoor water parks, we have one of the best.
It's called Splash Lagoon and it to is on Peach St.
Down Town is where all the night life is.
Our comedy club (Jr's Last Laugh on State St.) is a lot of fun and our OHL Hockey team the Erie Otters are playing both Friday and Saturday night at the Erie Civic Center.
If you looking for unique place to eat try Molly Banigins on State st.
We have a casino just off I-90 on route 97. The Pony's are gone for winter but everything else is open.
And finally there is nice craft show in town this week end at Mcdowell HS.

Have fun:thumbsup2

not sure what all you are looking for, but the above suggestions are great, additionally The Erie Playhouse is performing Irving Berlin's White Christmas this weekend. It is a small but wonderful venue to see plays. www.erieplayhouse.org
The zoo is closed at this time of year (but do come back in summer, it's a fantastic zoo)
We have an indoor family sports park, www.familyfirstsportspark.com, it has indoor mini golf and a golf dome, lots of other fun stuff during summer time as well.
Take a drive around Presque Isle, it is beautiful,
ride up on the tower at the bottom of State Street, if it's not snowing and a clear day you can see Canada.
Holiday D'lights might start this weekend and that brings a lot of fun to 'downtown' (State Street)
The Erie Art Museum is beautiful of course.
We have some wonderful places to eat, as DH said above, Molly Branigan's has wonderful Irish food, Calao's is fabulous Italian food.

I could go on forever, this is a fantastic town, winter time does take a little bit of thought, but anywhere you end up you'll get a smile!

Have fun and if you need any more info -- PM DH or I.

It is supposed to snow rather nicely this weekend, so do be care, it will be our first real snow of the year and everyone forgets how to drive!
