Tuesday evening, I picked up Chris from work at MGM. It was raining that day. I'm not fond of driving in the rain but oh well. I did manange to time things right and didn't have to wait long for him to show up.
We hung out in the apartment waiting for Dianna and her boyfriend to arrive. Chris insisted on watching his weekly wrestling on tv from 9 till 11. Drat! I thought for sure he'd have taped it instead. Oh well. When Dianna and David got home, we made dinner- a dijon chicken recipe I found in my cookbook, yum. It went with rice, and we also had calliflower with cheese. Earlier, I had made a peanut butter chocolate cake for dessert, and we bought peanutbutter chocolate ice cream too.
mmmmmmm.
Yesterday, Chris and I got off to a slower start than we had intended. It was nearly 1pm by the time we actually were walking through the gates of the Magic Kingdom, and I was rather disappointed that the park closed at 7. For some reason the monorail was down and we had to take the ferry. We hadn't eaten yet all day so first stop was cosmic rays for some lunch. There were several characters scattered around the castle but we didn't feel like waiting in line this time.
We decided to stroll through Tommorrowland. I had to check out the stores I worked in to see if anyone I knew was still there- and a few actually were! It was fun to see people again. There were 2 CMs at one cart- one was a girl I knew and the other was an older woman who I didn't. The older CM is aparantly a big jokester, as she pretended to recognize me (I had my DIS pin on with my name). She gave me a hug and whispered "play along" but when she looked away, I shook my head at the girl who does know me. I don't like to fool people! The girl knew the woman hadn't been there long enough to know me. hehe.
We then went on Space Mt. Wheee! I didn't get a chance to go on that last year. And there was less than a 10 minute wait! But I wish it hadn't led to the arcade...Chris got hooked on games for a good half hour. Bleah! In the meantime, we got a dose of strange weather...while it had been sunny just a little while earlier, I suddenly looked out the windows and saw a downpour! Welcome to Florida....
To make up for playing video games, Chris took me to Toontown to meet Cinderella. hehe. Suzy Mouse was there too. I started singing along with the music- "Once Upon a Dream" and Suzy Mouse just adored me because of that. teehee. I also got some applause from those in the room.
The character greeter there was at the end of her college program. In the County Bounty shop, Goofy was running around the store doing a conga line with guests. hehe.
We hit many of the main rides- pirates, haunted mansion, big thunder, and did a lot of roaming around 'n such. The rain let up so it wasn't so bad. We met the Tweedles who kept taking off each other's bowties. hehehe.
We decided to continue over to Epcot before the mad rush of the crowd leaving MK, so we did. Our favorite thing to do has always been to stroll around the worldshow case. We headed straight to France to see if perhaps Belle was still out. She wasn't but Beast was so I had my picture taken with him. hehe. Chris knew the greeter. We saw the cutest little girl go to the Beast. Beast hugged her and then tried to cover her face with his big paws for the picture. The little girl tried to kiss him so he bent down so she could. She blew him more kisses as she left. hehe.
We saw Suzy and Perla over by the International gateway, so we went to say hi for a bit. Then I spotted Clopin back over in France so we went back that way. Clopin remembered me from the past.
He'd met me during my ollege program. Chris and continued through the countries- buying several treats in Japan to snack on later. They remodeled the store there, and it looks very nice. By this point I was starving. After a ride on Rio del tiempo, we decided to eat in the quickservice area in Mexico which has become something of a tradition with us. They need more places to sit! We ended up eating on the steps in front of the temple. We ended the day with a quick trip on testtrack and then hightailed it to the monorail to avoid the Illuminations crush. My legs are still sore today from all the walking. Chris's dad was kind enough to pick him up last night so I didn't have to drive all the way there and back. We were going to get together again today but decided we were too beat. We'll have plenty of chances to go back I'm sure.
I wore my DIS pin all day long, but no luck. rats.

I really like your mini trip reports! Thanks for writing them. You are in the prime of your life and doing what you really want to do. Lucky you!
