Pre-Trip1
Hi everyone, I am throwing my hat into the ring of trip essayists.
My goal for this trip report is to tempt and tease (as stated in my title) those who haven't as of yet planned their first, second, third or tenth trip to the World and those who have planned their upcoming trip, but have months or maybe even years, before it's their turn
Just kidding, this report is totally self-seeking. It is my way of tempting me to plan another trip and teasing me because I know I won't be able to afford one for a while!!!
This tale of temptation and teasation (MS Word just indicated that this is not a word, but I'm sticking with it, you all know what I mean) is centered on what started out as a group of 62 people - a Family Reunion of sorts - but pregnancies, new jobs, school, finances, and other planned vacations got in the way for 54 of us so we are now down to 8. That's a good thing, because just listing the "Cast" would have taken up the entire trip report.
Now, in the most august manner I can muster, I have the privilege of introducing to you the most estimable cast who will be lodging at the Pop Century Resort from the sixth of September until the tenth, two thousand and six. Okay, this marks the end of my deference to Masterpiece Theatre - or else I'm bound to slip up and reveal what my actual high school GPA would have been if my mother weren't an English teacher at my high school
First and Foremost, there's ME, also known as I, Sneezie, Tamara, the Disney know-at-all to this particular set of people. I proved my worthiness on our last trip in February 2005, when I found the DIS boards and actually had our itinerary (all seven days fit on two sheets of paper - can you believe that?) including ADRs (PSs at that time) with confirmation numbers and Must Sees. I still have it on file and refer to it from time to time. I was recently married in December of 06, my dh is not a Disney man (he's never visited, so there's still hope for him) therefore he won't be with us on this trip - maybe the next one.
Here's a picture of me & dh at our wedding. No, it's not Disney-related but I do like the picture!
Next up, my DS, that is dear sister, Farrah, who is just as much a Disneyholic as I am, but she is more of the Luke variety. She's almost in her 30's but would not knock down a small child if they skipped her in the TOT or RNRC line (just joking moms, but she will give them the evil eye
or try to skip your small child in line - so watch out for her). She has yet to stop and take in the little things at Disney, but there's hope for her this year!
DD13, Jasmine, isn't really my daughter. She's actually the daughter of a distant cousin. Jasmine came to live with us when she was about a year old and we've been stuck with her ever since
Jasmine is the Luke of our trip - Luketta, if you will. She is the most fearless girl
err person
I've ever met. She thinks the CoP would be "cool" if it revolved at 65 miles per hour and did a flip at the end - otherwise she doesn't see the point. I challenged her to ride it this year for the educational aspect if nothing else. She's hoping it's not open!
DC 12, KeMarr, first time at Disney, is a Luke-in-training we'll call her Luke - warm
. KeMarr is a sweetie and I can't wait to see her face when she hits Magic Kingdom for the first time.
DC11, Kia, also a first timer, KeMarr's sister. Kia is a mini-me. Afraid to ride anything. She just announced that she will walk to Disney World because she's afraid to take the flight. Too bad, Kia, you should have started walking last month - we only 27 days left!!! Unfortunately, this doesn't work
or this
DA, my dear aunt, Cathy, who hasn't been to Disney World since the early 80's, is really excited about this trip. She actually just called me as I was typing her name, and squealed that she just realized that we had 27 days left. I assure you that you will hear a lot about Cathy throughout this report. She's the type of woman who will not sit idly by and let someone just come and stand in front of her during the parade after she's been standing there staking out her spot for over an hour. And oh my, I feel for the sorry sap who doesn't move to the end of the row that she'll be sitting on. I'll start praying for them now.
Next is DC, Dana. Cathy's daughter, who came with us last year on the Ultimate Disney Land and Sea Vacation!!! We had a blast with Dana and when she heard that we were going again she was all for it!!! Dana just recently got her masters and this is her celebration!!! :cheer: (the trip, not the cheering smilie)
Last and least is DC, John, Cathy's son, John is least because he won't be with us throughout the trip. He has to head back early Saturday morning. He is a jazz trumpeter and has a gig on Saturday night!
That's the end of our cast. I heard you
and I agree "Thank God all 62 aren't going!"
Like I said before we have 27 days left. No, I haven't packed a stitch
(of clothing, that is), nor have I bought my crocs, baggalini, or body glide, but I do have my LGMHPC so I'm ready to roll
We will be visiting the world the same time as the incomparable GlendaMax, UtahMama, and Zzub and I can't wait to flash my LGMHPC badge and give my Meet the Fockers sign! I just hope I get it back, otherwise I'm just a fool in lime green with a nervous tick
Anyways, thanks for visiting the pre-trip of my very first ever trip report. I hope you had a good time and will come back to see us from time to time. I'll be dispatching more pre-trip trinkets as the time draws near .
(Have you figured out yet why this is a Parenthetical trip report)
