A Daily Dose of Disney Drama! 5/02/13 PG 53 THE END

Yay! MK! That's my favorite park :goodvibes It just doesn't feel like I'm THERE until we go to the Magic Kingdom.
I'm sorry about your photopass card! I hope you can get in touch with them somehow and get your pictures.

Caught up on your first two installments.

Glad you're all caught up :)

What a great start to your trip!

I am so glad that you loved the Yacht Club!
It was off to a pretty perfect start! Thank you the YC is wonderful! For our family of adults I prefer it to the BC.

Kona is one of our favorites, too! I haven't been for lunch, but enjoy breakfast and dinner there.
You must try lunch!

Loving the pictures so far! :thumbsup2 on the camera.

Thank you. We have had a NikonD80 for years that takes great pics but it is rather big and heavy. The new camera is lightweight and easier to travel with.

What a pain about the missing brushes and your difficulty finding some. I can totally see how that could happen- that is something you use up until the last minute, so at that early hour, I can see forgetting to pack them. Perhaps you could get a set of "vacation" brushes and keep them with your luggage.

Exactly! Good idea, thank you.

Also sorry to hear about your missing Photopass card. :sad1: Did you try contacting the PP customer support at all. I didn't know if you identified the time and place one of your photos was taken, and what you were wearing for Halloween costumes, perhaps they could locate the picture and identify the number.

That being said, once PP lost the pictures we had taken at the RNR guitar, and although I could tell them exactly where and when they were taken, they couldn't find them.

Sounds like fun so far at MK. Love hitting the classics at the beginning of a trip!

I don't know who you met!

I didn't call about the card. I wouldn't have bought the CD anyway and it seemed like a lot of trouble to order maybe a couple pictures.

Me too!

Can't wait to see your "costumes."

As for the photopass, call Photopass support.
Once they find one picture, they should be able to give you the photopass number to collect the rest of them.

Hope you like them!
Thanks for the tip! I have heard you can do that but never have.

Me too! The MK is the park that makes me feel like a kid again :)
Thanks. I'm not too upset by it but it would have been nice to see them anyway.

Sigh, the YC rooms look just lovely. :goodvibes We've stayed at the BC before, but never the YC. I like the look of the rooms more than the lobby (I like the BC lobby more). And nice score with the views! :thumbsup2

I love eating at Kona! I would go there for the sweet bread alone that they serve at dinner with the macadamia nut butter. However, those macadamia nut cookies sound good, too!

Hmmm, no idea who you lined up to see, but I will go with who I would have wanted to see the most - the Seven dwarfs!

They are! I think the BC is a better fit for young families like yours. The lobby is more kid friendly over there. The view was perfect!

We've never had dinner at Kona. I guess we need to try it!

The dwarves are very popular but that is not who we saw.

This has nothing to do with Disney but I had to post about our American League champion Detroit Tigers! As you know, we love our Tigers! Before the ALCS championship series started Caitlin told me she'd really like to go to a game as an early Christmas present. I told her I'd see what I could do. ( I suggested a family event but Dale isn't a sports fan) Well after waiting online 45 minutes, I was able to score tickets for us to the Tigers 2nd home game. At the time I mused, "if they sweep the Yankees we would see them win the Pennant!" I knew that was highly unlikely but it was fun to imagine!

So our game day was Wed and we booked a room at the Greektown Casino Hotel and made a special day of it. We arrived at the hotel about 4pm and checked into our room. It was very nice with a modern decor (Caitlin forgot the camera ) and an incredible view of the city!

Our package included $20 each for the casino so we spent the next hour in the casino playing the penny slots. By the time our "free money" had run out, Caitlin had won $12 and I won $26! We were super excited! I can't imagine how we would have been if we'd won big :rotfl:

After that we went back to our room and changed into our game clothes and then took the mile walk to the stadium. We were there before the gates opened and at 6 we were let in. We grabbed some food and watched batting practice. At 7:30 it was announced that the game was delayed due to weather. This was nuts because the sun was shining and the game wasn't even supposed to start until 8! At 9 it still hadn't started raining and they announced the game was cancelled! :confused3 So frustrating and disappointing! Then they announced it would be played the following day at 4pm! Very unfair to folks who might have a hard time taking the day off! We walked back to the hotel and finally around 10:30 the rain came. We went to bed since we had to be up very early the next morning as Caitlin had a midterm at 9:30am. So we left the hotel around 7:45 got home at 8:30 and she left for campus. After acing the exam she came back home and around 2:30 we headed back to Detroit. This time Dale came along as our driver and he hung out at a bar across from the stadium.

Our seats were pretty high up but we still had a great view of Comerica Park

As you know by now, we witnessed an amazing game! Our Tigers kicked some Yankee butt and we beat them 8-1 and swept the series!!

I'm not exaggerating when I say that being there for that win was a Bucket List experience. It was very exiciting and I found myself so emotional I cried. We can't wait to watch them in the World Series. Tickets for that were WAY beyond my budget but my dad is going to a game. This is a dream come true for him so I couldn't be happier!

Thanks for letting me share our excitement and GO TIGERS!

Pretty cool experience. I watched some of the game on TV but I didn't see you guys. :lmao:

Congrats to the Tigers on their WS berth. I can't believe they postponed the game Wednesday. That was nuts. I don't doubt it was a bucket list experience. Last season when the Brewers won the division we were lucky enough to go to the first game of both the NLDS and NLCS (we have a 10-game plan) and that was pretty awesome. I can imagine winning the pennant was that much more exciting! Right now I'm hoping the Giants beat the Cardinals (still bitter about last year...LOL), but if they make the WS I'll definitely be pulling for the Tigers!

I'm not a huge baseball fan... but I do like to watch it when the finals role around. So cool that you were there not only for a game but for a pennant winning one at that! So cool.

I think my dad cried after that game, too. Although for different reasons...He's a HUGE Yankees fan. I'm pretty sure their loss broke his heart!
I'm not a baseball fan at all, but It's really cool that you guys got to see your team win big!! :goodvibes

Yes it was!
How awesome that you got to attend 2 games! :)
It was really exciting!

Baseball has always been my favorite sport. As a kid it was a huge treat when my dad would take us to a game or 2 each season :)
It was pretty awesome!

I'm sorry for your dad. I think the Tigers just wanted it more than NY did.
Thanks :)

That stinks that the night game was cancelled. What a pain that you had to wait around but at least it wasn't raining on you!!!

:confused3

But I'm glad to hear you were able to make it back the next day to see the Tigers win the pennant!

I'm a Red Sox fan, so it is "Wait until Next Year!" Again!
