Ok, first do we know if it will be running in December? :confused3
If yes, continue on please...

Second, if you purchase the WOC picnic ticket that ticket price of $14/per person it includes the meal, and the seating too? How do you know when to go...what time? Do you need to arrive early? If you have a ticket you will have a seat correct? Are they good seats?

Sorry for all the questions but we are going in Dec and would like to know ahead of time. Sounds like it would be a good thing to do. :wizard:

We do not know if WOC will show in December since the schedule has not been posted. We do know it is showing daily in September and Disney invested $80 million in the show so it is reasonable to expect it will show in December and will likely be daily.

There is no seating for World of Color. It is standing except for a few bench spots. The picnic includes a FASTPASS for admission to a standing area.

See "World of Color Superthread" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=37986447 for information on this.

Incorrect. WOC is designed for standing.

in December there might only be one show per night. and only on the weekends.

The picnic meal includes a FP ticket for the show. The FP will have a return time on it. If you want to get a prime viewing spot (the show is standing only as HG said), you should return well before the actual return time, as people will be lined up in advance. I would suggest walking through the viewing area during the day to scope out where you'd like to stand. The WOC superthread is also useful as it has diagrams of the viewing area showing each color section, so you can use this as a reference when scoping out a spot once you know what color your FP is.

Have fun! :)

This would amaze me if it were true. The costs to run WoC are minimal to Disney at this point, a little bit of labor for crowd control, and the electricity to run it. As compared to the cost of a fireworks show, or an Fantasmic Show, this is basically nothing.

so, by offering it daily, they spend little money, have a night time show available every single night, drive people into DCA, all things that are in their best interests to do.

Thanks everyone for their posts. I really appreciate it. :worship:
I will read the link on the WOC...I'm sure it will be really informative.

One quick question though...if you got a picnic ticket wouldn't you be in a certain area so they could hand them out?

It sounds like since there is no "reserved" area for viewing with the picnic ticket maybe it's not all that great. Just as easy to grab fast passes and find a spot and watch. :confused3

I'm sure over the busy Christmas season, WOC will be shown at least every night and maybe even multiple times on the weekends.

I am not sure what you are asking. You reserve a picnic meal and go to a specific place to pick that up. Each meal includes a FP for a particular WOC viewing section - blue or yellow I believe. You show up at the specified time in the specified place - the FP tells you where and when - and then you get in line and then see the show.

See the "World of Color Superthread" for information on this. It has two links on WOC picnics:

Disney WOC "viewing tips"

World of Color Picnics: A Special Culinary Quest by oc Tony

These should tell you everything you need to know about WOC picnics.

You are right. There is no reserved area just for WOC picnic guests. For the preferred dining guests there is a reserved area. The picnic guests get a FP which is essentially the same thing as others get from the FP machines - they just get a meal and do not have to wait in a long line for their FP. With the FP the picnic guests stand in the viewing area along with everyone else who has a FP.

Just to eleborate. The Picnic meals come with the physical WoC FP tickets. You pick it up( the picnic meal and ticket) through the afternoon upto an hour before the first WoC show of the day. Then you line up for the show with you tickets which allow you into the reserved dining area or the 2nd best viewing section which people with normal FPs will also be in.

If you want to see the first show, you must pre-order your picnic meal on the website. You may pick up your picnic (and ticket) anytime during the day up to an hour before the first show.

If the picnics for the first show were sold out, you can purchase your picnic and get your ticket (for the second show) whenever you want, but you must take your picnic meal with you at the time. You can't purchase it and have them 'hold it' for you until later. So, try to go during lunch and have your picnic for lunch. Or go when you're hungry - the picnic lunch is not really something you want to be carrying around the parks with you.
