I'm proud of myself for one thing I thought of on my own and hadn't seen on the board unless I just missed it. As I was in line at Walmart one day waiting to pay I looked down and saw these metal trays for little kids (like a TV tray) and instantly thought, hey, I can get that and take it on the trip (we are driving from Ohio with 3 kids, youngest DS 3) and DS3 can put that on his lap (he is in a booster car seat) and use it to put his puzzles, books, coloring books on and have both hands free to play and eat snacks also. It was only 3.50.
Also, I saw on thread on here where someone said even if they don't do laundry, who wants to wear your swim suit all week without washing it. They brought woolite I believe for a cold water hand wash in the sink. I thought that was a great idea and even better when I went to the dollar store and found a big generic bottle for 1.00. Well, I wasn't going to bring that big bottle all the way so I found some small travel container (empty for you to put whatever in) at walmart for .50 and as big as the bottle of detergent was 1.50 total was a great deal. I am not one to pay 1.00 for travel size shampoos and soaps and lotions and things so also at the dollar store, I got these huge (and I mean huge) bottles of vo5 shampoo and conditioner and put them into some smaller bottles that I had at home that I had just finished using whatever had been in the bottle and had planned ahead to re-use those bottles for the trip (I believe it was tiny bottles of bath and body stuff that my dauther got for xmas...perfect size to re-use the bottles and take them on the trip). That saved me from spending 1.00 on dinky travel size but I also don't have to cart big bottles of shampoo soap and lotion either.
Walmart finds for the disney stuff fanatics......for the first time today I found the Disney Cars (movie out in June) summer outfits for DS3, the movie isn't out and he is in love....also for those that havent been recently winnie the pooh outfits and nemo outfits galore. Most of you will probably already know but Nemo little swimmers and The "Cars" pullups. Also, those carry and toss cups Nemo, Cinderella, not sure what else......all great stuff for the trip.
One more thing....saw one thread about foam shoes for kids, ok to get wet and comfortable.....found those at walmart for 3.88 for boys they have 3 to choose from one with a sail boat, one with a fish, and one with construction vehicles, saw those for the first time today, my DS3 has very wide feet and they wouldnt fit him (wanted them to wear to the pool) so I found Thomas the Train swim shoes for 6.46. Sorry for the long post. 10 days to go, can't wait and lovin all the tips from here!!
