The really silly thing though is that soon there will be threads popping up as to whether we should tip him for this service. Everyone will end up agreeing that since he is working a minimum wage job and that's a tough road to be on, we would be cheap not to give him a tip.

I prefer getting my own drink. At our local fast food places they fill the cup with so much ice that you end up getting a splash of soda in it.

So maybe in NC I will be play with them filling it then

I wouldn't mind the car wash attendant at all! I have a very low car and wear a four-point harness that I have to undo to move at all. I tend to avoid drive-through anything.

In St. Croix, you can't take the carts out of the store so you will always get a teenager to carry your bags to your car and put them in. They usually ask if you want the bread up front with you. Usually tip them a few bucks.

I think if you get to live in a beautiful, tropical paradise, you should at least have to carry your own heavy things....it's just fair to the rest of us
