Being able to wear flip flops completely depends on the person wearing them. I'm able to go from RD-close in a pair of $2.50 flip flops from Old Navy whereas other people get blisters, sore feet, etc. if they aren't in a supportive shoe. So, if you're used to wearing them for extended periods of time at home, try them out in the parks.

If you are the type who can normally wear flip-flops, then I would recommend something with a little more support. I wear flip flops every day at the parks and have for several years and here are my recommendations:

I always wear Rainbows, and even though are a little pricey, they do have a thicker strap, are leather which is nice, and have a little more arch support/overall support. The only caveat to Rainbows is to be sure to break them in before leaving. My first pair I broke in at the parks and I was fine, but my second pair gave me a few blisters (weird, I know)

Also, i'm not sure if these are popular where you live or not, but chacos are really comfortable. They aren't the most attractive shoe but can get wet and aren't a problem like flip flops when wet. Also they have straps so it's harder to lose/someone step on the heel.

Reef has some flip flops with a cushioned heel much like a tennis shoe. They sell them online.

They have a good guarantee policy on them too. In terms of sizing, they run true to sizes listed. I'm a 7 1/2 US women's and wear a medium! Hope this helps!!
