I have a couple of questions I haven't seen answers to.
1. Is there any type of rope drop show?
2. Are park opening times pretty accurate? Often at WDW parks will open earlier by 10 minutes or so.
3. Can you get free ice water at quick service restaurants.

You definitely can tell I'm a WDW vet and newbie to the Land.

1. No show
2. Yes, they are pretty accurate. I wouldn't count on the rides to be available until the opening time.
3. Yes

Welcome and happy planning!

I've found the park opening times to be pretty accurate. DL and DCA both often open the ticket gates a bit early and allow guests onto Main Street or Buena Vista Street (respectively). In those cases, select shops and dining locations may be open early (e.g., Starbucks is usually open as soon as guests are allowed onto MS or BVS).

Yes, you can get free ice water at any of the quick service locations. Note that unless you specify otherwise, you will usually get a child's sized cup of ice water when you request one.

Just wanted to add that while there wasn't an actual show at our last RD, the CMs did line Main St wearing Mickey hands high fiving guests as they walked passed. I thought it was a cute morning welcome! We aren't usually 'front of the line' RD people so I don't know if they always do that?

I've seen the CMs lining MS welcoming guests on several of my last trips, so I think that it is pretty common right at opening.
I figured it was. It's a rare occasion that we're close enough to the front to see it! I'm glad we got to experience it. I thought it was cute.
