I have a couple of DDP questions:

1) I leave on Monday and was wondering if it was too late to add DDP to a room only reservation

2) Is the cost of DDP worth it as I have never done it before while at Disney

I doubt it's too late to add it.

Whether it's worth it depends on how much you would have spent at the restaurants that will now be paid by the package. We did get it for our trip earlier this month.

I'm not sure about the availability of ADRs this close, so I'd check the places you want first.

It's either 24 or 48 hours can't remember which one

As for value for us we have breakfast and dinner adr depending upon how we do lunches it will work out either 100 extra for disney or we end up ahead by 100 that is with having quick services lunches and not table service if we eat a couple tabe services for lunch then we are ahead

Best bet is to look at your ads figure prices and go from there

I have a couple of DDP questions:

1) I leave on Monday and was wondering if it was too late to add DDP to a room only reservation

The dining plan has to be added no later than 3 days before arrival so unfortunately it is too late. Also, for future trips, it cannot be added to a room only reservation. The Dining plan can only be part of a package which has different deposit, final payment date, change fees than a room only reservation.

2) Is the cost of DDP worth it as I have never done it before while at Disney

This is subjective and you would have to do the math to figure out if a dining plan or paying Out of Pocket would save you more money or possibly a different discount (e.g. room rate discount if available) would be better for you.

You have to add it 72 hours in advance for normal reservations, or 48 hours in advance for DVC reservations. In general, when paying for the plan, it is only worthwhile if you have multiple children (ages 3-9) in your party. The low cost of the children's plan subsidizes the high cost of the adult plan.

You can't add DDP to a room only reservation. You would have to cancel and rebook it as a package. If you are within 5 days of arrival you may be paying the penalty for cancelling the room-only (cost of the first night's lodging). Be very careful before you allow a phone CM to do this.

We have paid for the dinning plan and also paid OOP. I found OOP cheaper and we didn't eat as much food because we felt we had to. That being said I'm all about some free dinning.

If you have a package reservation with room and tickets, can you add the DDP no problem? Will it affect anything else on my reservation?

since DDP is a package add-on, you must have a package booked to be able to add it without changing your reservation from one type to another.

The exception is DVC reservations made through DVC Member Services.

I wonder if OP (assuming it wasn't so close to the start of her trip) would be to call and change her room-only reservation to a package with tickets & DP. I guess even if you could you would lose the ability to book FP+ at the 60 day window.
