Does the Hojo rooms have safes in them? Will they fit a laptop?

Do they have DVD players?

The coffee makers, did I read they have the Keurig? Are they the little mini ones? Can you use regular coffee in them too? We want to bring some extra coffee and to-go cups so I need to know what kind to bring.

The laundry rooms, are there plenty of washer & dryers?

How close is parking to the rooms.

We are in bldg 1. Thank you!:)

Yes, in-room safes, the large kind you you are able to fit a 17" laptop, and a whole bunch of other things into it. You get to select your own 4 digit pin code.

No DVD players but you can bring your own and plug in with an RCA jack cable that you bring along.

Yes, the little mini Keurig, and they sell extra K-cups in their store, as well as hot chocolate in the envelopes. Each room gets 4 K-cups per day I believe, that house-keeping places in the room. You can only use K-cups, not any other style of coffee or filter.

Building 1 is great!! I think there are 3 washing machines and 3 or maybe 2 dryers, I can't recall; they sell detergent in the gift shop. Price is reasonable, can't remember, maybe $2 a load to wash, $2 to dry... can anyone else recall the price?

ENJOY your stay, you will LOVE the cleanliness of Hojo's. It's the only place we stay.

Sorry, I don't know about the parking, because we always fly in.

I am looking forward to my stay at Hojo's too!

I am assuming that you can make hot water for tea or cocoa with the Keurig machines???

Yes, you can! You just run it without the K-cup in place. They do sell the hot chocolate packs at the gift shop for around 50 cents each I think.

Thanks! My daughter said she wanted hot chocolate and I research the k-cups of cocoa, but they don't seemed to be sold individually...only as a pack. Not cost effective for me sinc I don't own a Keurig.....Mmmmmmmmm maybe I should think about that. ;)

Looks like most of your questions have been answered already. Hojos is hotel-style with interior corridors, not motel style, so you won't be parking just outside your door. There is ample parking though with a suitable number of spaces near each building, and if you are lucky you may find a space right up against Building 1.

I'm not sure, but I think the Hojo convenience store may sell individual K-cups for hot chocolate. Probably just cheaper and easier as you say to bring your own packets and just heat the water with the machine.

So I know this may sound weird but I am so excited that they have the Keruig machines. I have always wanted to try one of those machines. We are coffe lovers so i know we will never stray from our espresso machine and french press but still I would like to try it out.

May be small but that is just one more thing to look forward too! :goodvibes

I loved the coffee machines.

I put my laptop and passports in the safe every daye...very big safe.

The room was perfect for our family, you should have no problems.

It's not a small thing it's a big thing because they even give you cups with lids to go... I just love being pampered like that! :)

I am glad you mentioed that because I was going to buy some cups & lids ahead of time. Thanx:thumbsup2

That's brilliant! As a coffee lover this means alot to me!

Sweet! So glad you posted about the cups and lids too! I figured when I was out getting snacks I would just grab some from the paper plate/napking isle at the store but this sure helps!!!

....housekeeping was great about leaving new cups and even extra when I left a note...but we never had our lids replaced on an 8 night trip at end of February. My Mom and sister were there in January and had the same problem. I did leave a note a few times requesting lids but to no avail, so my advise would be hold on to your lid rinse and re-use. Last year we had lids every day it was great we could drink our coffee on the move to the park.

This year we ended up going to the blue ribbon bakery on main street if you keep your receipt and cup you can have free refills all day Yes free; where elese will you find that in the park. the actually do give you a new cup but you have to hand in your lod one. This was nice when we are in DL ; wish that DCA had something like it.

We loved having the Keruig machines but recommend that you use bottled water. We made the mistake of using tap water one morning and the coffee was vile!!

Actually you just need to keep your receipt. My husband does this every trip and there is no need to keep the cup.

I have no first hand opinion - but have researched a bit and read from a lot of people that the cocoa K cups are not good. Artificial sweetener and not great flavor....

I will just say that I found the coffee at HOJO to be vile even with bottled water. undrinkable, even with the real cream that I brought. Ended up just getting my coffee at the market house in dl. Same deal, save receipt and get free refill. Much shorter lines than Blue Ribbon Cafe, but I had never heard they did free refills there.

Honestly, the coffee at DL is not that steller either. If your coffee is important to you, I would bring a small pot, filters and coffee along with you. I'm from Seattle and I guess I am a coffee snob. Although I just drink Costco fresh roasted when I am at home and I didn't think that was snobbish at all!

I'm not a coffee drinker, but DW is a fanatic. Here's a hint to those staying at HoJo's -- there's a Starbucks just a minute north (by car) on Harbor. Go over the freeway, and it's on your right at the next light. Right at the intersection of Harbor and Ball, on the near corner, which is convenient.

Thanks for the info GrandBob, I will send my husband on some coffee runs in the morning because I love my Starbucks and I know I will miss it while I am there. Especially when we have to get up early & go all day.:thumbsup2
