A couple Halloween Party Questions

This will be the first time we've ever attended the Halloween party AND the first time we've been to DL. I've heard about the party at WDW and wasn't sure how different the two were.

First- when meeting the party characters, specifically the villains, will they sign autographs? Are the villains in the parks during the day as well?

Second- I know at WDW one of the big draws is meeting all 7 of the Dwarves. Do they do a meet and greet at the party in DL?

Third- Another big thing in WDW is the photo pass picture of the Ghost Hitchhikers outside the Haunted Mansion. Do they do special photo pass pictures like this at DL? Do they have the hitchhiking ghost one?

Fourth- The one thing I'm really not getting are the candy trails. Maybe I'm missing something, maybe it's because I'm going with a four year old who doesn't really know the appeal of candy yet, or maybe it's because we're attending the party 3 days before Halloween, but I'm just not getting the huge appeal of trick-or-treating. I was reading a bunch of posts from or about the party, and everyone was talking about the candy trails/stations. So many people were writing about how proud they were that they made it to all the stations and how they came home with 20 pounds of candy (I for one would NOT want to be carrying that around all night!) First off, what's the difference between the trail and the station? I read from a lot of people that the lines were pretty long for the candy. So I guess I'm confused as to why people would spend $60 to go to this party to trick-or-treat instead of spending that time doing all the other stuff.

Thanks for your help!

1. Some will some won't. Like all characters some aren't able to sign.

2. No, meetable characters are variable between the two resorts, you won't find the dwarves but will find onse that are rare or no longer at WDW.

3. Yes, though I haven't heard anyone talk about it so they may not have a PP photog at the HMH this year.

4. Some people may like candy more than you. It's one of the many special things that happen at the party do the ones you like best. The trails are not like in AK, they are like a few stations(tables) in a row with candy.

They also have healthy snacks like small bags of carrots and dried apples. If you ask for these, they will give them to you instead of candy. ( I'm not sure if they are at all the stations, though. Hopefully someone else can chime in on that). That way, your little one year old can have the experience of trick or treating there without having to get candy. :) You can then bring the snacks into the parks on following days so that you'll have something healthy for your 4 year old to snack on. :)

We were just there this week. My kids and I decided what was important before we got there. There is not enough time to do it all. We wanted to meet characters, villains especially. So we went to as many of those as we could. Some lines were very long. If you want jack skellington get in line before the party starts. My husband took the kids on thunder mountain 2 times while I waited for Halloween costumed Mickey and Minnie.

We missed phenius and ferb but saw agent p, he doesnt sign autographs. They did some trick or treating. The line next to agent p was short. They did that station 2 times while I waited for the characters.

Ride lines are short, if that is what your focus is.

Just remember to have a great time!

Oh and if possible don't use a normal day ticket on party day. You can get into DL at 3 pm with the party ticket. Save your money.
