Google (the search engine) offers a free toolbar for Internet Explorer users. It not only provides a great search toolbar, but, it also features a free pop-up blocker and best of all..NO ADS!!! The 2.0 beta version is the best one. You have an option to get the 'advanced version' (which apparently includes more toys), but you must give your permission to have all pages you visit sent back to Google (it's one of they ways they determine page rankings). You can also get the standard version with no information being sent back. All in all, this is a VERY COOL, FREE add on...check it out at http://toolbar.google.com/index-beta.php

Thamks Pete. I downloaded it earlier this week and I really love it. I have rec'd about 3 or 4 pop ups total compared to the dozens I rec'd daily before.

Does the new version of the toolbar contain the spyware that the first version contained? Apparently the original Google toolbar kept track of what you were searching for and could report that information back to Google. I'm always leary of "free" tools on the internet, although this one looks promising.

I use AdAware 6.0 to keep track of spyware, and the Google search bar didn't seem to set anything off.

Apparently the original Google toolbar kept track of what you were searching for and could report that information back to Google.

That's true, but v 2.0 of the toolbar allows you to disable that function if you choose to. You just select which one you want when you download it.

Hey, it also said that it has a search page function and search site function, so when the dis search is down, we can use the google one to search the dis.
