A complaint (kind of) about Golf Cart Enterprises (update)

Let me start by saying we have used their services twice and been very pleased. However this trip I have e-mailed them 3 times with no response. I finally called them two days ago and got a woman on the phone. She could not give me specifics on pricing ( she thinks the cost of a gas cart with windshield will be 150 plus 25 for windshield plus 50 for trailer) she was not sure but thought we may not need the trailer because we could back our truck up to a ditch. She promised to have someone call me back and answer all of my questions. I have not heard from anyone. To top all of this off we are arriving on Sat aug 16. They are closed on Saturday so we could not go to pick up the cart until Mon. Once we pick it up, we would then have to return it that day. The rental fee for the trailer is not for the whole time, just to transport back and forth. Then because we are leaving on the following Sat and they are closed we would have to go Fri pick up the trailer, load up the cart and then take it back. So basically we would get the cart Mon-Fri for 225.oo Plus miss all of that time from Ft. Wilderness. I'm a little dissapointed in their services this time. I think maybe we'll just rent from the Bike Barn. That is if I can find their number and they have any left. Anyone else have this experience?? When we used GCE in 2001 they couldn't have been more accomidating. I guess Disney really hurt their business when they no longer let them drop off the carts anymore.

They just called us back and left a message. Very appologetic. However we will not use their services this time. I can't wait until 3 days before vacation to confirm rentals. Plus the whole issue with pick up only mon-fri and having to immediately return trailer was very limiting in my opinion. In this case I feel that the Bike Barn is ultimately cheaper . Time is money sometimes.

I'm sorry, no advice for you. But we too had rented from them in 2001 and were so pleased with them. Hope they get in touch with you soon!

Haven't used them yet, but their phone service has been impeccable to date. Perhaps you called during a week when someone is on vacation or something. I hope they call soon!

And yes, I would bet Disney hurt them big when they disallowed off site drop offs at FW.

Hi Gris's,

This is exactly why we rented from
the bike barn on our last trip. I did
not think the $ 63.00, plus or minus,
difference made up for the 4 trips,
time and gas, to get the cart. To me
it is not a savings anymore. Maybe if
you can save the $ 50.00 rental fee
on the trailer it would be better.
