Hi Gang

I just wanted to comment on looking at pictures of a resort versus actually being there. We just got back from the Dolphin (May 29th to June 9th) and had a great trip.

I've always been interested in what the AKL looks like. We decided to have dinner at Jiko and we all LOVED it. The food was awesome. The resort itself was breathtaking. To walk around and experience it there was totally different than looking at the pictures. The pictures quite frankly don't do it justice.

I'm semi interested in the Polynesian but when I look at the photo's it looks dated and kind of 70'ish. Unfortunately we didn't make time to stop at the Poly so I'm wondering what it is like to walk around and experience it?

Just wanted to ramble about Disney...

I think you are right, the pictures don't do a lot of the resorts justice. AKL has always been one of my favorites. I have only visited the Poly once but I didn't "stay" there and I thought the lobby looked "dated." I have always wanted to stay there though and I still plan on trying it out sometime soon.

Photos don't do it justice......It is like an island paradise when you are there. The grounds are gorgeous. We loved it there. The buildings aren't as glamourous as a place like the Beach Club, or GF, but it is a different type of resort from them.

Here are a few photos...don't know if they will help....I think it is a case of it is definitely more beautiful when you are there.

AndyMcV, I agree with you, you do need to walk around the resorts to experience their individual beauty. I'm glad you enjoyed the Dolphin and AKL. I stayed at both and loved them both. I never thought I'd like the Polynesian until one trip when my DS and I walked the gorgeous grounds. I'd love to stay there sometime. Did you see SeaSpray's pictures of the Polynesian? If not, I highly recommend you take a look.

unixadm, those pictures are AWESOME!! :sunny:
