A Christmas week Dinning Review (lots of pics) UPDATED 1/17 Breakfast POR Food Court

Hi there! I see you are off to a great start. I'm a huge fan of Yak & Yeti so I always look forward to others' reviews. Oops about the bone in the egg roll. At least the manager made it right.

As many times as we've stayed at BLT, we've never eaten at Chef Mickey's. The breakfast options look great - especially the Mickey waffles! :thumbsup2

Wow Chef Mickeys looks great. I have never dined there as we really love Tusker House for breakfast, but will have to try in the future :goodvibes

We love Chef Mickey's, its a bit pricey for a breakfast, our bill came to $150 for 4 of us. We are considered 4 adults now. If we didn't have the free dinning plan don't think we would do it though. In August 2007 we had free dinning again and did Chef Mickey's for dinner. DH and I are not big fans of dinner but only did because we knew my DS loves it. We were celebrating his birthday and I wanted to celebrate his birthday at CM and I ordered him the treasure chest cake that they offered that year. I believe it was the "what are you celebrating" year so they offered the treasure chest cake. I think I payed only $15 for it. My son was sooo excited when they deilivered it to him!! He had the biggest smile on his face! But anyways if you go I recommend breakfast not dinner.

I have read about Tusker House and it sounds great! I think I have been to this breakfast when it was called Donald's Breakfastosaurus and used to be at Restaurantosaurus? We used to love it because of the Krispy Kreme Donuts! :cloud9: Ok the other food was great also and the characters are awesome!

Lunch: Sunshine Seasons 12/23/13

The time now was around 12:30 and we had just finished up our FP+ for Soarin. Tink asked us about The Living with the Land Ride. We told her about it and she had an interest in going on it, the wait was 20 minutes or FP return time was in 25 minutes. So we decided to use our KTTW cards and get a FP, we figured we would get something to eat now while we waited.

Sunshine Seasons is somewhat of a challenge to feed my family here. For instance the sweet and sour chicken is not the typical sweet and sour chicken they are used to. They like the kind that we usually get from our local Chinese takeout (pieces of fried chicken that they dip in sweet in sour). So what I ended up getting is two of the Turkey and Monterey Jack on Ciabatta - with Chipotle Mayonnaise and with a side $8.99 but asked for it without the mayo. I got the two sandwiches and realized that there were lettuce and peppers in the sandwich. I knew Stitch would not the touch the sandwich with lettuce and peppers in it. So right next to the sandwiches I noticed a pizza panni and it came with a side of sauce. I went up to the registers with all of my food and told the CM that I would be using 3 CS credits. She looked at my tray and said that I should go back and get another piece of the panni with a side and that would count as an Adult CS. So I went back and got another piece with a side of potatoe salad.
I went back up to the registers but silly me went to another cashier. I told her I would be using 3 CS credits and that I was told that these two pannis with the potatoes counted as adult CS credit. She then said to me They are? Well thankfully the previous CM that told me was right next to her and the CM I was at asked her and she said yes the two pannis can be counted as an Adult CS. I smiled at her and said thank you. Finished up my order and then went to find the family.
Food pictures and reviews. I will start off with the pizza pannis, Tink ate a piece and Stitch ate the other piece. Apparently they were hungry because by the time I remembered the picture the pannis were gone!! I heard no complaints from either of them about the taste so the pannis must have been good.

The turkey sandwiches were a very good size, so if I did get only one Mickey and I would have had plenty. But the original plan was to share two sandwiches among the four of us till I realized the sandwiches had the veggies in them. Mickey and I loved the turkey sandwiches they were absolutely delicious! We both did not finish them as they were very large and we wanted to be sure to be hungry for our Teppan Edo dinner. The potatoe salad we did not like all that much.

Turkey sandwich with potatoe salad started to eat before the picture.

Sugar cookie with Xmas sprinkles very good

Rice Krispy treat with Xmas frosting and sprinkles yummy as always

Red Velvet Whoopie pie with cream cheese frosting very good (sorry the picture didn't come that great)

Overall thoughts: Most of the time when we eat at Sunshine Seasons it is because of its convenience to Soarin. Since my son is somewhat on the picky side its harder to find him something at SS for him. I like it here and so does DH it gives us a nice break.

Dinner: Teppan Edo

Dinner at Teppan Edo was the one I was most looking forward to. I have always read reviews and thought yum that is right up my alley. I finally decided to reserve it this trip. DH never wanted to try Teppan Edo because he was always worried about getting stuck with some not so nice dinning guests. Well that was not the case! We were seated with a very nice family and if I remember correctly they were from PA. At first I felt very weird that we had to squeeze between the wall and other diners to get to our table. But once past that and in our seats I was very excited to start.
Our waitress came over to talk to us and take our drink orders. Stitch ordered a sprite, Mickey and I ordered a diet coke and I can’t remember what Tink ordered but it was probably an apple juice. Not long after she came back with our drinks. We then placed our orders. Stitch, Mickey and I all ordered the Nihonbashi - sirloin steak and chicken breast $29.95 and Tink ordered Ueno - chicken breast and large shrimp $27.95. Our waitress asked if we wanted chopsticks or a fork. I asked for a fork, but then I noticed that she started making “cheat” chopsticks so I said I will take chopsticks now.

Our Chef came over not long after. She started off by pouring everyone their sauces. They had 3 sauces; one was called yum yum sauce (ranch dressing), ginger soy and a mustard sauce.

She made a Mickey Mouse head for us.

She started to cook the vegetables first along with the noodles.

Volcano onion

Noodles and vegetables on my plate, my son and hubby both hate veggies so they both ate around them. I found out that night that Tink likes squash. I thoroughly enjoyed the noodles and veggies.

We all then received a small bowl of the beef rice they serve. The rice is just very flavorful and delicious.

Tinks plate with shrimp

Meanwhile all the meats are cooking

Chicken and steak

We all thought the whole meal was absolutely delicious. But for some reason Tink was being picky and said the shrimp and chicken were chewy. I had most of her shrimp and did not think it was chewy. I thought she would have loved it all since she could dip it in the ranch. She filled up on noodles and vegetables and some rice till she started to be picky and said she didn’t like the rice either.

After the wonderfully yummy meal we ordered our desserts.
Tink ordered the ginger chocolate cake and they put a candle in it for her and sang happy birthday to her. She enjoyed the cake. Mickey also ordered the chocolate ginger cake and he enjoyed it.

Stitch ordered the vanilla ice cream. He thought it was just ok.

I ordered the green tea cheesecake. I love green tea and chessecake, and this did not disappoint. Very yummy!!

MMMM could go for a piece right about now!!

Overall thoughts on Teppan Edo:
Everyone but Tink thought the meal was absolutely yummy!! We had a great time with the show they put on. (Tink did like the show they put on) I would have to say this was our best meal all week. I see us visiting again.

Whoa! I fell miserably behind. Sorry. Time to catch up….

Is it just because I’m starving that the Casey’s nuggets and fries look so good???

The food at Y&Y looks really tasty. Now that we have suddenly become much bigger fans of AK, I think we may try that next time we get to WDW. I am laughing though at the Tall Rice! Terrible about the egg roll bone though! :scared1:

What a fun breakfast at CM’s! We have always had a great time there too. The energy is just great. What a fabulous idea to recreate some of the pictures from years past! I love that - may have to steal it one day if I can actually remember it.

The food at SS looked pretty good. I am always wary of turkey sandwiches because I don’t like processed, wet turkey. That one looked pretty decent though. And the desserts looked especially good!

Wow - Teppan Edo looks really good. I definitely want to try it - it’s so hard to choose restaurants at Epcot though!

I'm not a huge fan of hot dogs, as a matter of fact I just finished making hot dogs for the family and I had something else. :lmao: But I do like the corn dog nuggets but I can only eat a few.

Yes CM's is lots of fun! I am not a big fan of dinner but still have a good time if we do dinner there. My son is so sweet with stuff from his younger years. :goodvibes

I also don't like the processed turkey, but SS was not. Too many yummy dessert choices, and I went with the more kid friendly choices. Oh the sacrifices we mom's make! ;)

We have not been to all the EPCOT WS places for dinner yet.

Late Dinner/Snack
Liberty Inn

This will be a very quick review. Tink decided to be picky at dinner and didn’t eat the chicken or shrimp. The noodles and dessert didn’t stay with her long. Around 9pm she said she was hungry, so we were near Liberty Inn.
While in there Stitch was thirsty so he got a frozen cherry slush.

It was very quiet in there, so the guy CM and I had a nice little conversation. We were talking about how the Xmas crowds had started to come into the parks. He told me to avoid MK on Xmas Day. I smiled and said “we are one of the crazy families that will be visiting MK on Xmas Day”. I continued to tell him that we have CP reservations for breakfast and BOG reservations for Dinner. He then said “OMG I am sooo jealous I want to go so badly”!! He then said “You get to meet The Beast and Belle after dinner”. I said “oh you do?” (knowing full well that you only meet the Beast at BOG) After we got our food and found a seat, I immediately said to Tink that he was wrong and you only meet The Beast at BOG. I knew as soon as she heard him say that you meet Belle that she got all excited!

So anyways onto the food, I ordered Tink the 8 piece Chicken Breast Nuggets with a coke and Rocky Road Mousse Brownie. Sorry I remembered the picture after she finished it. Well Stitch, Mickey and I helped her a little. The chicken nuggets were good and the brownie was good also.

Overall thoughts on Liberty Inn:
Nice place to have a quick bite. The plus of us stopping at Liberty Inn was that after we left we wanted to find a spot for Illuminations. We walked out to the outdoor seating at Liberty Inn and just decided to sit there. I realized that the trees would be in the way but I thought this spot would work for us. I liked it because it was our own little area, and Tink does not like the loud bangs of the fireworks. So she puts on her headset and listens to music while enjoying the view.
