Hi all! We had planned on doing the free dinning promotion that is soon to be released, but after running the numbers we are thinking about trying the interline discount instead. We are a family of six. The kids range in age from 10 to 6. I have the option of booking the WL deluxe room CL, the BW deluxe room CL, or the SSR tree house villa for an excellent rate. If these were your choices, which would you choose and why? Also, we could do two rooms at the WL for a slightly less expensive price tag, but the idea of CL is appealing. All input is appreciated, thanks!

I would definitely opt for the WL since the resort theme/decorations are so well suited to the holidays. Beautiful!

Any other time of year, I would have chosen the BWI due to its convenient location and nicer/larger rooms. Its decorations are not quite as impressive as those at the WL, but are still beautiful if you do much prefer everything about the BWI.

Have fun!

Thanks! Are the rooms really that much larger at BWI? Is 6 too many in a deluxe room at the WL?

Unfortunately, I do not have knowledge of the deluxe room sizes between the two resorts. I was basing my description off the standard rooms, so perhaps I am incorrect that the BWI room would be larger in your case. Hopefully someone else can chime in!

Another pro to the WL is that most everything is inside in case the weather in December ends up being cool! The BWI restaurants and entertainment, for example, are located outside on the boardwalk. The boat rides between the WL and MK can be a bit chilly, though, if it is cold.. but still just as convenient!

BW. The room is larger than the WL room and their CL seems to be more positively reviewed than WL's. Plus the decorations are stunning and you simply cannot beat being able to walk to Epcot and Studios! (I don't care for the THVs so even though I'm a DVC member, I wouldn't choose to stay there.)

We book with an interline rate every trip. It's a much better discount at a deluxe resort than the free dining. I would go with the BW deluxe room. It's larger than the Wl and you are guaranteed a BW view. I love the location of the Epcot resorts. SSR is so far away from the parks. Wl is lodge is nice too, but I prefer the BW.

Thanks for the replys. One more question...is there a divider between the bedroom and the sitting room in either of the deluxe rooms? I just worry about the kids going to sleep and the two of us wanting to watch tv and unwind.

This is exactly why we are considering the deluxe at WL -- I am pretty sure none of the other deluxe rooms have a separate sitting area. We stayed in the deluxe room at WL three summers ago and loved it. Now, with a 3 year old, we love the idea of literally being able to close the door to the living room where he'll sleep (with a pull out couch) so we can still watch tv and talk.

Thank you! Now, we're almost a go... I just needed to make sure. I don't think it would work without this either. I am still debating the bathroom issue. I'm not sure one bathroom is enough for six people.:crazy2: The offering in the Old Faithful club look delicious! I'm terrible with decisions, I always second guess myself...:confused3

Would you still be adding on dining to your room?

What is an interline discount, just curious, it must be a great discount to jump from ASmu family suite to CL deluxe!

I always try to visit WL during the holidays, it's so Christmas'y to me. The BWI's display is cute, as well, but WL is dramatic, IMO.

We were in a CL deluxe room at WL last Christmas and really enjoyed out stay thoroughly. IMHO, there is no better place to stay during the holiday season. The decorations, fireplace, and enormous Christmas tree will definitely put you in the holiday spirit.:santa: One thing you should know, is that many of the deluxe rooms aren't on the 7th floor where the Old Faithful Club is. We had a terrific lake view room at the end of the north wing, but it was a bit of a walk, and an elevator ride away to get to the goodies!
Have fun...

You're right...it is quite a discount! Interline is 40% off. We have made a decision as a family to splurge a little on the trip. It's really not more than the two rooms I had booked at POR rack rate. We were still deciding on where to stay and never really committed to AsMu, I just figured that's where we would end up. Our dates have changed as well. We are having to go just after Thanksgiving due to the children's school schedule.

40 percent! How can I get that discount for our trip next summer? That is amazing!

The interline rate is for airline and certain other service industry employees. You do have to show proof of employment to get the discount.

Yes, interline in my case is airline employee discount.
