Every time I think I've found a reasonable cheap hotel I go and read some dreadful reviews on it. I started with the Radisson at Maingate West which I thought would be a great place for OH to drive in and meet us at CBR (we can't all share a room - long story, just take my word for it). Then I head that Radisson has sold that particular hotel. I then went for Ramada - and found out that it does not have the promised wifi in the rooms, and that was a dealbreaker for us so it had to be cancelled.

OH is happy to go as far as Lake Cecile but I think that's possibly too far, especially as he's got to come in early in the morning to meet us (he's down for the free QSDP so will be eating at the resort and parks with us).

So, we're sort of looking at the area between the bottom of Sherberth Road and as far as the bottom of SR535. It's an area we know well and he feels confident he won't get lost.

Absolute must: free wifi in the rooms, and double bed for OH
Budget: Approx $400
As low a resort charge as possible - preferably none at all!

Time is not an issue: we're looking at 2nd - 14th March 2015 inclusive.

Thanks for your help. :dance3:

How many total days are you looking at for $400? There are definitely some hotels in the general area that should be okay, but trying to figure out this budget broken down to a per day?

2nd - 14th March = 12 days!

We're talking around £22 a day, so that's in the region of $35.

That is a little harder to accomplish. We've stayed at the Holiday Inn Maingate, which I think was like $49 per night, and Seralago, which I have seen for around $30 per night. Both were clean and fairly comfortable, Seralago was somewhat dated. Galleria Palms is decent and appears to be around $79 for that time frame, and is right at the Sherbeth Road lights on 192.

We stayed at the Avanti Resort on International Drive right after it reopened after renovations. It was about $50/night. That was a special, but they always seem to have them. Great location.

Your dates are Spring Break dates so it will be harder to find lower rates.

I suggest looking for hotels around the Silver Spurs Arena. My daughter has competitions there and there are usually decent priced hotels. Several friends of mine got hotels from priceline near the arena and was very happy with the accommodations. I am pretty sure it was the Super 8 that they stayed in.

A quick search on Expedia pulled up the following:

Econo Lodge Inn & Maingate Central $38.00 a night
Howard Johnson Enchanted Land $40.00 a night
Ramada Kissimmee Downtown Hotel $40.00 a night
Knights Inn Kissimmee West $44.00 a night
Howard Johnson Inn Tropical Palms Kissimmee $46.00 a night
Super 8 Kissimmee Suites $50.00 a night
Roadway Inn $50.00 a night
Amber Inn & Suites $50.00 a night
Magnuson Hotel Kissimmee Maingate $50.00 a night
Sevilla Inn $54.00 a night
Howard Johnson Express Inn Suites Lake Front Park Kissimmee $54.00 a night
Quality Inn & Suites Eastgate $58.00 a night
Royal Celebration Inn $60.00 a night
Ambassador Inn $60.00 a night

We stayed at Baymont Inn right at the Sherbeth Road turn off on 192 several times, and it was fine. Nothing fancy, but nothing terrible, and it had free breakfast.

I don't know if this will meet your needs, but I always book the hot rates through Hotwire and have never had a problem. Just search Kissimmee or Lake Buena Vista, 3 stars and up, and you should be able to find something pretty decent :thumbsup2

we are staying at the HOJO international drive march 5th-13th for 39.99 a night and with fees comes out to around 390 total. I've stayed there before and its comparable to what you would get at any Disney value resort, and has free breakfast! We always do a split stay with universal and disney and this puts us right next to universal and not a long drive to disney as its right off the interstate.

Magnuson is excellent

We never stay in our room - so a hotel isn't an "event" for me.
