A call from one of saddam's palaces...

Last night (well, early this morning, 3:30 am) Ashli got a phone call from Titus. He was at one of saddam's palaces and they let him use the phone to call her. She was so excited to hear from him again!

Wow! How nice! Is it a palace in Baghdad? I know she was thrilled.

BibbidiBobbidiBoo, I'm not sure where the palace was located. Titus had been a little south of Baghdad for several days(he could see if from the base when it was burning). He had told Ashli in a email last week (he was able to email her four or five times last week!) that rumor was they were going to be moving again. Unfortunately the direction was north, not south. Maybe this palace is somewhere on the way to wherever they are going.

How exciting! She must have been thrilled to hear from him. I'm sure he's got a lot of great stories to tell about the palace when he gets home!

I'm sure Titus is the lucky fellow that gets to pay the phone bill. The problem for him is getting a dial tone. He's only been able to call twice since he got over there because there aren't many working phone lines in the places he's been (mostly camps that they have set up here and there). Once he gets a dial tone he can call at&t and use his debit card to place the call. I think that as soon as he gets to a more established base he'll be able to call more often but this particular call will always been cool just because of where it originated from, lol.
