A/C in Restaurants--chilly or ok?

This is a really silly question, but lately evertime we go into a restaurant locally the A/C is turned down so cold my kids and I are freezing! I am Pooh sized with LOTS of insulation and usually hot, and I am still cold! I keep sweatshirts and jackets in the car for cases like this.

So, for our late Sept trip in the wicked heat and humidity of FL we are planning to wear mostly tank tops to keep us cool outside. But, are we likely to be freezing when we go inside to eat? We are eating at all "family friendly" places like:
CP
LTT
50's PT
Park Fare
H&V bfast
Pop Food court

I usually carry a lightweight rain jacket for each of us, but with the humidity we prefer to be wet than be sticky in waterproof jackets so I was thinking of leaving them at home. But now I am wondering if I should bring them to put on in the restaurants.

As long as the A/C is set reasonably then we are fine--but it just seems like everywhere here has it set much lower than is necessary to be comfortable. We actually had to leave Kmart the other day because it was too cold inside the shop--the cashier was wearing long pants and a sweatshirt!!!

Anyone have any issues with this at WDW?

I always need a to wear something in WDW restaurants. I even brought a sweater with me this summer bc i get soo cold in the restaurants.

Carry a sweater in case and enjoy your vacation.

I to am Pooh-sized, generally feeling a bit warm. (Blame my age, not my size; I used to be cold all the time!)

Last September it was so cold I couldn't enjoy my meal at Cali Grill. Some poor women a couple tables away was in a fancy sundress and actually had her server bring her a tablecloth to use as a shawl.

I now carry a light weight jacket or even a long sleeve shirt I can roll and place in my backpack.

Last year I was so cold in Rainforest Cafe, that I started to become nauseous. I actually went into the gift shop and bought a sweatshirt that was on sale! Maybe that's why they turn up the A/C! ;)

Op, thanks for this question. Something I will need to add to my packing list. I hate to be cold!! Thanks again OP!! :thumbsup2

This is a common complaint about RFC. It feels nice to start with but after 5 minutes you're completely frozen. You'd think they would try to save the $ and turn up the thermostat to "partially thawed".

OP - I'm one who has small veins and bad circulation, read: I get Ccccold easy. I've learned in Disney resteraunts with the AC turned down I have to keep moving, even if it means getting up and running to the ladies room to wash up :) Buffets are a big help.

Got to say that we've dined at WDW restaurants for MANY years and I can't once recall anytime that we were too cold.

We don't think it is overly cold in most of the restaurants. There have been a couple of times when we were a little too cold but on average we don't have a problem. When coming into a place after being outside in the heat, we usually welcome the cold air for a while.

Count me in with the cold ones. I live in the South and it seems we try to overcompensate for the horrendous outdoor heat with crazy A/C inside! Whenever we go to eat or to the movies I always bring a l/s shirt, sweater, or sweatshirt or else I'm miserable! :sunny:

Thanks all. Sounds like the jackets will get packed. I am trying to lighten the load, but want to make sure we have the things that are necessary.

I carry a pashmina in my bag for dining. I am always cold in the restaurants. DH & DS never are tho, so it could just be me. I am very sensitive to cold.
