Thank you. One site has the V500 listed for $199 but comes with Photoshop Elements. Wonder if that is worth it?

I am still looking for the best (or easiest) way to scan about 100 rolls of negatives. Epson's V500 (and now the V600 at $250) look pretty good. The V700 offers twice the capacity/speed and much greater D-Max at a higher price. The ultimate goal is to put them on HDTV so I only need 1920 pixels, about 1200 ppi or about 2MP.

The other option is to "scan" with the duplicator that I use for slides and use software like VueScan to process the "scans". Either way, VueScan or SilverFast is recommended over the software that is included with the scanner (for negatives only, slides are much easier).
