A Bizarre restaurant memory

Years ago (maybe 15?), I went to DL with a group of girlfriends. After a long day at the park, we were hungry for a snack before heading back to our hotel. I remember walking straight down the street, but I have no idea at this point if it was Katella or Harbor. We went into a restaurant and sat down. When we got our menus, we were totally perplexed. Menu items were absolutely huge (a la 20 egg omelets) and prices matched accordingly. We got up and walked out since there was nothing in the way of a light snack. It was a very surreal experience because everything was so bizarre. We didn't pay attention to the name of the restaurant, but I think about it occasionally since it was so strange. I can't recall how far from the park it was (walking distance, but not an outrageous walk), and I think it was on a corner. Does this ring a bell for anyone? :confused3

Nope but if anyone remember I need to take Dh there!

Definately not Buca's. And I don't think it was that far out. I wish I could remember more. It was all so very strange.

Boca De Beppo :) sorry just correcting the name... but i have no idea where this place is. I wanna know now. Im taking my dad for the first time to DL in a few months. This would be a good place to take him.

It was probably Belisle's. Used to be where Bucca di Beppo is now. It was a restaurant famous for it's oversized meals (before everyone had oversized meals). I only went there a couple of times, but it was straight down Harbor from the park, at Chapman. I don't remember it being overpriced, but it's been so long now.

Thanks so much. I had a feeling that it might have begun with a "b". I googled it, and it does sound like the place. I had no idea we walked that far that night! It's too bad it's gone; I really wanted to go again to see the menu, and maybe actually eat there this time.;) It probably wasn't overpriced for what you got, but the servings were so huge that the prices seemed big, too.

Yes, it was Belisle's. It was actually on the corner of Harbor and Chapman where the Outback now sits. I went there a few times as a kid with my parents. Then I had gone back there before it closed with some friends. I remember us all sitting down, getting waters and then checking the menus. The prices scared us like crazy. We were poor college students. That we all closed our menus, stood up, and calmly walked out. I dont care how many pancakes were in the stack, there was no way I was gonna for go part of my tuition to pay for it. I guess I didn't pay attention to the prices when my parents were treating.
