We're considering going to UO next year (I know, not Dis, but the kids REALLY want to do the new HP world). Does UO have Special Needs support the way that Disney does? I've never been there and know nothing about UO. I posted this ? on the UO board also, but was hoping someone here might have BTDT and could give me the scoop.

TIA....

Hi,

Yes you can get Universal's equivelant of the GAC card though are there some differences.
Firstly you have to renew at each park visit other than getting one for the duration of your trip.
Also they do just look like a standard 'express pass' rather than the Disney one's which are more tailored to a specific need.
So if there were say 4 in your family you would receive one pass for each guest rather than the one GAC card.

I guess also as the passes just appear like the standard express pass you can find sometimes more explanation is required to the CM's. I suppose you could argue they are more aimed at helping you queue in shorter lines than actually being an official GAC pass.

Just time for a short reply.
There is more information about Universal’s Guest Assistance Cards in the disABILITIES FAQs thread. You will find the thread near the top of this board or you can follow the link in my signature to get there.
Post #1 of the thread is an index that tells which post has which information.

Universal has different cards based on the needs of the person, so you may not get the card that was mentioned by the previous poster. You need to explain your needs to the Guest Relations staff.

Also, for Harry Potter, because it was so very busy when it first opened, they may not handle the Guest Assistance Cards the same way each time/each day. So, you can’t plan on exactly what will happen, but they will attempt to meet your needs.
