A bit of turbulence....

Looks like anyone flying to Florida in the next few days is going to experience a choppy ride. Maria, Nate and Ophelia are legging it across the atlantic in formation. Looking at the latest charts, I don't see how flights can avoid them altogether. Lets hope it has quietened down next weekend as I'm not at my best during turbulence

Last year we flew out when ivan was just dying off and we flew really high to get over it, and the same when we returned, another hurricane again flew a bit further inland and a lot higher than normal.

Oh great!!! That's all we need, a bumpy ride to start our holiday - but as someone pointed out on here, why do we get all worked up about a bit of turbulence when we spend 2 weeks voluntarily going on rides that do far worse to us?!!!!

That said, I'll still be leaving finger marks in my seat arm rests every time we feel a jolt! (Like that's going to make it better?!!)

I hear what you say. I've been on some of the largest, fastest rollercoasters all over the world and loved every one of them but give me a bit of turbulence and I'm a mess!. I think its a trust factor you build up over time. I also am a very nervous passenger in a car and much, much prefer to drive myself wherever possible.

I am just the same, hate turbulence, prefer to drive myself.

I know that turbulence is not a problem for the aircraft and it is just a comfort issue but still makes me panicky and nauseous.

I think a lot of people do not like Turb, a colleague who has not been back from Disney very long said she would never go back again due to turbulence both ways.
I think we have to expect on such a long journey that we will get some turb and if we do not then it is a bonus.
