A bit of a dilemma...

So we are taking a trip to Disneyland in October, and recently had been planning to make a stop in Six Flags as well. My brother and I have always wanted to go there, we love roller coasters. But in order to go, we would have to go in the middle of our Disneyland days, as it's only open on weekends.

What sounds better?

Friday and Saturday in Disneyland, Sunday at Six Flags, Monday-Wednesday back at Disneyland.

Or all six days in Disneyland...

Right now the sound of all six days in Disneyland sounds most appealing cause I like the idea of being able to take our time and see everything, but Six Flags also sounds like a lot of fun, and I don't know when I will get a chance to go down there again, and by then I might be too old for roller coasters! Lol.

Also it's $5 for an extra day in Disneyland or $30+ for a Six Flags ticket. :confused3

Okay first off let me begin by telling you, YOU CAN'T GET TO OLD FOR ROLLER COASTERS! I am 54 and have not passed one up yet. Now that, that is out of our way. Six Flags is a totally different park from DL. I love the DL magic. But, about every 5 years or so I go to MM for the roller coasters. They truly are extreme. :tink:

I think you definitely should do Friday & Saturday in Disneyland, Sunday at Six Flags, and Monday-Wednesday back at Disneyland!! You will have plenty of time to get everything done at DLR in those 5 days that you will be there, and if you can take a day to go ride some extreme thrill rides, why not? You love those rides, so you should do it! 5 days is lots of time at DLR.

Will you have a car to use to get to Six Flags and back?

Ok, Six Flags it is!!! I am happy to hear that. I was worried there wouldn't be enough time to do everything I want to do at DL. I am sure there will be. I think I am imagining everything will take longer than it actually will. I am just worried about WOC taking up a lot of time. But I am sure it will have died down by then.

I will have a car, as we are driving down from Canada, so we are all good there!

Thanks for the help guys! :)

Absolutely go to Six Flags. We like planning an "off" day in the middle of our Disney vacations. It's a nice break to get away from the parks and see something different. It's that much more special to be back at Disneyland the next day refreshed.:)

We've done DLR and 6 Flags and had a great time at both places. Be sure to ride Tatsu at 6 flags first thing when you get there because the line gets super long. And it's a VERY cool coaster. :thumbsup2

Six flags is hot and spread out and hilly and the bathrooms are dirty, but it was worth it to ride the fun coasters. You can watch some of the rides on their website - it would also pay off to be familiar with where they are and which order to ride them.

Their maps are super huge and not pocket friendly like the maps at DLR - if you can find a printable size one - take that, instead.
