I just joined the boards and wanted to say Hi!
I am so excited and happy- the other day we invited my mother, my sister and my mom's boyfriend to go to Disney with us in November, and they just said YES!!!
We go to Disney fairly frequently (maybe not compared to others on this board!) since we are DVC members. But my mom, my sister and mom's boyfriend have never been there. I just can't wait to take them! I should mention that Mom's boyfriend has been around since I was a kid and he is just as much family as anyone. He is actually the one I am most excited about taking- he is going to love it!
So we have a lot of people going on this trip, me, my DH, our three kids (they will be 10, 11, and 12 when we go), plus my mom, my sister and my mom's boyfriend, and my SIL, her DH, and their twins who will be 3 1/2, and DH's youngest sister who will be 13.
That is 13 people! We have never traveled with such a large group! When just my family goes, we usually do Disney on a budget, since we couldn't afford to go as often as we do if we didn't try to keep the budget in check. But this trip is special, on account of my mom and all going. So we want to do the trip nicer than usual this time- but still not go crazy. But money won't be such an issue this time.
We already have Sunday through Friday booked at the Boardwalk Villas, but we only booked a two bedroom unit plus another studio. We have to call and see if we can change the studio to another two bedroom unit. I hope we can! If not we will figure something out. But that won't cover out whole trip. Depending on the day we decide to fly out, we could get there as early as Friday late night, and we don't plan to leave until the next Sunday. That gives us two nights we need to plan for at the end of the trip, and possibly two nights at the beginning of the trip.
For those extra nights, we want to stay at nice hotels on property. Any suggestions? We usually only stay at Boardwalk, but last time we spent a night at the Polynesian and liked that also. I want to stay at one hotel the first two nights, and then another the last two. I want the ones with the most "WOW" factor since my mom, my sis and mom's boyfriend never really go anywhere nice. I really want to dazzle and spoil them, while keeping in mind the fact that money is a tiny bit of an issue. For the hotel nights, we will need three rooms and I don't want to go broke in the process! Oh, I need to mention that for the extra hotel nights, my SIL, her DH and the twins won't be with us, which is why I only need three rooms.
Which hotels do you all think are best?
Also, I want to plan to do some special things this trip. Any suggestions on what are some really great special things to do or go to while we are there? I mean special from an adult point of view- we are taking the kids in August so they will have just been there so I want to plan special things that my mother will especially enjoy. My mom is not real old, she is in her late forties, her boyfriend is 50 and my sister is 26.
I want this trip to be the best ever!
