Got back today from a spur of the moment trip to Disney to celebrate my Birthday. Decided on the 27th Jan that we needed to get away so phoned MS for availability and OKW was available for 1 week starting from 3rd Feb, got cheap flights from Virgin (flying miles and money offer) so off we went.
I asked to be near the Hospitality House but ended up in building 22. I was concerned about the long walk, as we dislike driving, but ended up enjoying the stroll. In fact DH listed it among his highlights of the trip.
We were in studio 2220 and it was wonderful, so spacious, clean and well maintained. I loved that from our balcony we had a view of the golf course and small lake and from out of the front door we could see the higher Epcoy fireworks.
Olivias was very good and the crab cakes were outstanding.
Didnt do the main pool/slide but enjoyed the quiet pool/ hot tubs twice, it was very peaceful.
BCVs will still be my first choice resort during food and wine festival times but for the other times I think we will be tending more towards booking OKW and have decided to do OKW for next year in May/June.
All in all we had a magical time. :)

Thanks for the magical report. I'm glad you had a great time. Sounds like it's easier for you to take a last minute trip to Fla from across the ocean than it is for us from Tennessee!! Not fair. Actually, our problem is so many commitments due to kids in school and sports, etc. And to some degree lack of $$.

I wish I were taking a stroll around OKW right now. Anywhere at a WDW resort would be great.

So glad you enjoyed your time at OKW. It's our home resort and our absolute favorite place to stay in "The World." When you have a chance, try a one or two bedroom unit--you will be amazed at how spacious they are.

Glad your trip was great. We just booked a two bedroom for May and we can't wait!!!! DVC is awesome

What a lucky DVCer you are!!! So glad you enjoyed our favorite place to be also! I have to admit, however that I have only been home once so far and DH doesn't want to stay anywhere except OKW :earboy2:

Thanks for the trip report!

Thanks for the report. It seems that lately there have been a lot of negative reports about the rooms at OKW. It is nice to hear something positive. Glad you had a good time.

Glad you liked OKW. We had a stay there in early 2002 and just had to make it one of our homes (via resale) after that.
