I would say bacon-wrapped scallops, except for the no-pork restriction.

So, the contest was last night…. I came in second

The winning entry was empanadas made with home made pastry. Other entries were bacon wrapped dates, sausage rolls, Philly cheesesteaks in small buns, wrapped in cheese,and others I can’t remember.

The after party was the best time and my sister had to kick everyone out at 3 am lol

Are you referring to the bacon wrapped dates? They were made with turkey bacon. Sausage rolls were beef sausage.

So, the family likes protein-heavy, semi-straight forward, and with a fatty edge...it's good to get an idea of the judges for future contests. I know in my extended family, the same types of foods would win, even if they wouldn't win in my nuclear one...

Or, it was a fun family event, delayed by two years, and it was more about the memories than the calories
