Ok...help. We've done the free dining plan in the past, so I'm familiar with the details of having to buy a "package" to get it (pay regualar room rate and buy tickets for each person in the party that are the SAME tickets).

My question is this....it looks like we'll be heading to the world enough in the next year to warrent APs. (WOOHOOO!)....Our first trip (to get the APs started) will be the one in sept. Can I buy APs as part of the package (for my tickets?), and get the free dining, or do I have to buy a one day ticket for each person and then upgrade them to APs?

If I have to do the upgrade thing, how exactly does that work?

Forgive the ignorance of the never before AP holder :confused3

You cannot buy AP's as part of the package. That I know for sure. :teeth:

We are also getting AP's when we go for free dining. This is what I have been told to do. You take whatever pass you bought with your "package" (unused) to Guest Relations or the ticket booths at any of the parks or DTD. They will then take it, sell you an AP, giving you credit for the $$ you spent on the package pass.

We are checking in at AKL at about 11 am, and we plan on jumping over to AK, getting the AP's, then just checking out the resort that day. :teeth:

That is correct about "upgrading" your ticket, but it cannot be done until the last day of your stay.

uh...okay...so what does that mean? Last day of our stay? Does that really mean the last day we are at the hotel or the last day on our ticket or what??

now i'm messed up. ugh.

I'm not sure where the previous poster got the info on waiting until the last day of the stay to upgrade tickets. We didn't have to do that -- last September we also did the free dining and upgraded to APs. We did it on the first day that we were there but we were told that it could be done at any time before the ticket expired. The only caveat is that it cannot be done at the resort, it has to be done at guest relations at one of the parks. Anything dealing with Annual Passes must be done at guest relations at the parks.

I did it in October for the free dining promotion. I bought one day passes and went to guest relations when we went to the first park. They upgraded them to the AP's. I believe there was a $63 credit per ticket. :goodvibes
