A 4 million dollar apology?

Just heard on the news that Kobe Bryant gave his wife a 4 million dollar diamond ring.

Under the circumstances, I'm not sure that I would enjoy wearing it. I think that a peace offering cheapens the apology. A sincere apology is worth a lot more than a gift.

Maybe he already had it on order and he just picked it up this week........

I would no way want it. He better hang onto his bucks. Just in case for lawyers fees, and in case he loses time on the courts, and he's already losing sponsorships.

I can't even imagine what a $4 mil ring looks like, I think I need to see it before I can judge, anyone got a pic? :teeth:

Seriously, I can't comment, I don't know either of them personally nor do I know what actually went on. Hopefully then can work things out and put it behind them, otherwise it's gonna get uglier before it gets prettier :)

Oh! Can you believe that?
I wouldnt wear it. It would be a constant reminder of his affair. "opps, sorry 'bout that hun, here's a constulation prize"

My DH and I heard this on the news last night. He turned to me and asked if he bought me an $8 million ring, would he be able to have two affairs?

I told him to put the ring on the table and we'll negotiate from there.;) ;) ;)

This whole thing is getting blown way out of proportion. I'm sick of hearing about it already.

Wow!!!! A piece of rock worth 4 million dollars. And it sits on her finger? I can't even begin to grasp that.

I wouldn't wear it either... tom me it would be a constant reminder of what happened. I would know it just reeks of " oh baby, I'm so sorry"...

I'd take it an sell it. I am sure someone would pay $6 million for the "Kobe Bryant Apology Ring".;)

Do you suppose it's a way of stashing away some money in case he gets sued?? If it's a ring he gave his wife as a gift, would it no longer be considered community property??

Wish I had $4 million that I had to protect....LOL!! Think how many DVC points I could buy!!

That's exactly what I was thinking.

It's a rare purple diamond (competing with J Lo's pink diamond?).

I thought it was kind of disgusting. Both the idea of buying forgiveness and the waste of money. How about starting a foundation in his wife's name instead?

Protecting his assests makes it even worse. PamOKW's foundation idea would have been a good idea.

It just struck me as very, very odd that it happened so fast. It was even "commissioned".
