A $300 plus POT HOLE! I think I "won". Update#66

I'm glad you took the inititive to get everything straightened out with the management company. For those that questioned the cost of the tires, my ford Focus has just standard tires on it - nothing fancy and not really low profile and they were over $200/each. We put new tires on our pickup truck recently and it was over $300/each, so I'm sure that the $300 for her tire was reasonable.

But Dawn how do WE know that these just aren't some random potholes you photographed??? :rotfl2:

You are right. Not over night.

One of the potholes in the cluster. Sorry for the darkness of the photo but it was getting dark. That is a bent, but 12 inch ruler in the pot hole.

UNBELIEVABLY they filled in a pot hole that I did not post here which is to the access from the main road (state hwy #) BUT they did not fill in these pot holes. I will let them know when I get my check that their work is not done. I can't imagine a crew going out and doing one pot hole!

Another Update! I just received a telephone call from the corporate office of one of the major leasees of the shopping plaza lot. She was very concerned that the property management reimburse me and address the issues in the parking lot. I told her that they weren't initially helpful but had a change of heart and would be sending me a release and a check for $300. She said she was happy with that, but if they didn't, she gave me a case number and told me not to hesitate to contact her. She was stunned at the size of the pot hole and the fact that it isn't winter yet. I told her that they had filled in the pot hole that accessed the plaza but not the group of holes that I hit. She will be following up with them, and me. I told her that I would email her when all was settled including the repair of the three pot holes.

Glad that it worked out for you, and I hope the holes get fixed quickly. :) Somebody walking through the lot could break a leg in those.

Good job Dawn! Dumb that you had to go through all that though, huh?

:scared1:

Good heavens, a small child could drown in that!!

(A few years ago there was a 8 year old here who rode his bike into a large pothole and drowned. :sad1:)

I doubt children would be out riding or walking on this particular road, but wow, now I see how it messed up her tire so badly. Thank goodness they are going to get it fixed!

This is the one they did fix. Note the yellow line. Now why would they drive out with a truck load of asphalt and not fix the others???

Because . . . the property manager only paid for them to fix one.

The property manager is supposedly from out of state BUT has someone on site that "inspects the property weekly" and "repairs any issues immediately". ;)

I think that I would offer to meet this person on the property next week so you can personally show him/her the areas of concern.:thumbsup2

If he drives in, turns right at the first opportunity he can ruin his tire too. I have done more than enough...except go to the bank and cash the check when I get it. ;)

Of course no one really KNOWS that they won a dispute until the check arrives in the mail. The check finally arrived in the mail. The delay was having their lawyer draw up a release to limit the damages to $300. The wording? I know its probably a typical release but ya gotta love "from the beginning of the world" thing. Sounds like they had a release for Fred and Wilma Flintstone. :rotfl2:

Wow, these companies have been in business a really, really long time haven't they? :rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

I'm glad you got your check!

So the mystery is solved - it wasn't a pot hole after all - it was a dinosaur footprint!

Glad you got your check.

I'd hate to see the wording that Mom is going to get with regards to a county fire truck hitting her car while turning around after a call.....
