I'm glad things went so well, but I'd like to chime in with something. I'd say if you had felt like a good cry that would have been just fine. I finally started buying waterproof mascara and just letting the tears flow! I think in my case that it is holding them in that causes me to blubber, because if I just let them flow they come and go silently and quickly.

I'm hoping to put together a scrapbook sometime this winter.. It will have photos of when my Dad was building the house in 1941; what it looked like when I was a child growing up there; how it looked when I moved in with my own family; how it looked during the remake that my son-in-law accomplished; what it looks like now; and the final photos of just before it sells..

I also have all the old documentation to it - the deed of the land that passed from my grandparents to my Dad & Mom - then from them to me; the permit my Dad obtained from the town water department to dig (by hand) all the way up the road and up the hill to tie into the town water; the initial tax bills in the $7 range; old oil bills; etc.. This will span 64 years, so it should be quite interesting!

You know, that was the odd part.. I didn't feel like crying ONE bit because the makeover was SO dramatic, I honestly and truly couldn't recognize that place as our family home at all!!
