How do you go about finding a good deal that some posts have mentioned?

I would first start by visiting the timeshare sites of Hilton, Marriott and Starwood to look at current offers. You can then visit sites for other companies like Orange County, Westgate, etc. Your address will determine if you qualify for an offer.

Sheraton has great packages, you have to do a 90 minute presentation. They have disney package and discovery cove package. They put you up in the Buena Vista Suites(looks nice) and this hotel serves a free hot breakfast buffet. The best thing about these packages (I called for info and am planning on doing one of these in the future) is that you get for example, 2 day Disney tickets PLUS one day at a Disney Waterpark. (You have to add $25 per person to add an additional day to the ticket) Now, I have two DS and I was quoted $125 per child for the same ticket. I would do it just for the bargain tickets!!
The site is www.orlandoescape.com It is legit, is in the Entertainment Books.

And most of the four night packages are $199 and include two adult tickets and than you can add kids tickets onto the package if you need them,

This is a good point - most of the timeshare specials are for four nights or five days which I'd assume to mean that the first day and the fifth day would be devoted at least partially to travel. I generally have two questions for anyone considering a timeshare presentation as part of their Disney vacation ... (1) WHY? and (2) Do you really want to spend about a morning of your valuable vacation time on a timeshare presentation that is more than likely going to leave you feeling at least a little bit angry?
Now, my wife and I have owned timeshares for several years so we're quite familiar with supposedly "90 minute" timeshare presentations - we did one once many years ago and won't do another one, it was with what I consider a reputable timeshare developer but it wasn't a pleasant experience. For me, my vacation time is too valuable to do that again. I think that you need to go into any "90 minute" presentation with the full understanding that it's going to take up a lot more than 90 minutes of your time and that the "90 minute" presentation is only the first bald-faced lie that the timeshare salesperson will tell you.
I'd suggest that you try to hook up with someone you know who owns a timeshare week that they'd be willing to rent to you or go online and find one of the many reliable sources for timeshare rentals (like redweek.com) to find a fair price. Granted you'll pay more than you would for a timeshare presentation special, but you'll not have to be subjected to the timeshare presentation experience.

We did a timeshare presentation at the in 2006. I was very worried about giving up my vacation time. Fortunately, it was pouring down raining during the presentation. That made me feel so much better. We also planned the tour at the earliest time in the morning (I think it was like 8:00 or 8:30). We also told the salesman up front that we were just doing the tour for the great rate and that we were timing him.:goodvibes He had exactly 90 minutes. He didn't hassle us and we got over with the tour in exactly 90 minutes. As a matter of fact, we were done early so he asked us to just wait a bit so he wouldn't get in trouble.

We were at the Silver Lakes Resort. I found an advertisement on their website. The resort was great. I had booked a one bedroom condo, and they gave us a two bedroom with no extra costs. They didn't even tell us anything upon checking in. We didn't know we got a two bedroom until we walked in the room. We had two other couples that booked as well. They were also upgraded to a two bedroom.

I know my situation worked out really well. Not everyone is that fortunate. Some of the salespeople can be quite pushy. But I truly feel it was worth it to save some money.:dance3:

I have heard horror stories of 90 minutes going onto 4 hours. Be sure to bring a copy of the add or letter with you. Florida law says 90 minutes is 90 minutes. Once you have stayed the advertised time and listened to the speech they have to give you the tickets or room stay as advertized. Westgate has booths set up all over the place like at gas stations and hotel lobbies. The signs say come in for cheap park tickets but its actually a time share marketing booth.

Where can you find a copy of this law? It would be great to have it with you. We did a tour in April and the salesman wasted a lot of time talking about himself, that my husband mentioned the 90 minutes, he said there is no such law.

In addition to timing, do some research on resale prices at the resort. No salesman will be able to touch them. Once you whip those out, he will know you did your homework and it will eliminate the price drops, getting the manager to get you a better price, etc...NO price they give will be anywhere close to resale.

I have never seen the law. I heard about it from a timeshare person and also on the DIS unplugged podcast. Both seemed like good sources but maybe I misheard. I'll check Florida admin code for it.
